Bratton Fleming is near the National Trust's Arlington Court, formerly the family home of Sir Francis Chichester. After which it is on to the Valley of the Rocks near Lynton and down by water-powered cliff railway to Lynmouth, known as 'Little Switzerland'. Descend steeply into pretty Porlock, the National Trust Vale and then over the border to Minehead with its holiday fun park and West Somerset Steam Railway.

The area around Langtree has easy access to the Tarka Trail, one of Devon's best walking and cycling trails, RHS Garden Rosemoor, 65 acres of enchanting formal and informal gardens and the North Devon and Cornish coastline, with its sweeping beaches at Westward Ho!, Bude and Widemouth Bay.

Black Torrington is a delightful town with excellent, pubs and individual, unique shops. In addition there are the charming market towns such as Hatherleigh, (home of Dartington Crystal), South Molton (pannier market) and Winkleigh (cider making).
