The Times recently produced their list of the “Most Glamorous Places to live in the UK” which includes one of our favourite holiday destinations, Salcombe, in South Devon. This inspired us to come up with our own list of “Most Glamorous Places to Stay” so that you can give yourself the VIP treatment in one of our most luxurious self-catering properties.

The South West already has a reputation as a celebrity hot spot, whether its TV types buying homes in the region or Hollywood A-listers getting away from it all. The reports of celebs spotted here ranges from Johnny Depp in Chillington and Kate Bush in East Prawle to Goldie Hawn & Kate Hudson in Topsham  and Richard Madely & Judy Finnigan in Polperro. There are also plenty of celebrity chefs in the region, so once you’re here, you might like to treat yourself to a night of dining with the stars.

EAST PORTLEMOUTH, SOUTH DEVON:

Love the hustle and bustle of Salcombe but want to get away from it all at the end of the day? Where better than Harbour Watch at East Portlemouth to put your feet up and enjoy the view. With your own private sandy beach and boat mooring literally on the doorstep, the delights of Salcombe are just a short ferry ride away.

If you’re looking for a more secluded hideaway, then how about Waterhead Barn and Farmhouse. Set at the head of a picturesque tidal creek, with 2 moorings and a slipway, this waterside property has wonderful grounds to explore and is perfect for a large, luxurious gathering of family and friends.

BANTHAM, SOUTH DEVON:

Perched on a hillside with an incredible outlook over the sea and the South West Coast Path literally on the doorstep , there is no excuse not to get out and explore the area. For a fantastic day trip, drive the spectacular coastal road from nearby Torcross to the historic town of Dartmouth which brims with boats, shops, cafes and restaurants.  And when you’ve tired yourself out, come back and enjoy Langerstone’s opulence with a dip in its indoor, heated pool with striking sea views.

SOUTH HUISH, SOUTH DEVON:

The Round House at Court Barton – perfect for family holidays
