Stunningly beautiful and reminiscent of an age gone by, Cape Cornwall juts out into the Atlantic ocean on west Cornwall’s craggy coastline a few miles from Lands End near the pretty town of St Just.  Holidays here are about lacing up your walking boots and following the paths the tin miners took to work in the mine whose chimney still crowns the cape, and walking the South West Coast Path towards Sennen Cove to the south or Pendeen Lighthouse to the north.  Everywhere you look during your holiday at Cape Cornwall you’ll find another stunning view,  either out to sea to the twin peaks of Brisons Rock a breeding ground for seabirds and favourite lounging spot for seals, or along the coastline dotted with the starkly beautiful ruins of the tin mines.

Once heavily industrialised in its tin mining heyday, Cape Cornwall couldn’t be more different today.  Bought by the Heinz family for the nation, it was presented to the National Trust in 1987 and is now a renowned beauty spot and a fabulous location for a holiday.  Your days will be spent discovering new walks and landmarks, including the 16th-century ruins of St Helens Chapel, sitting in the sunshine watching the fishermen haul in their catch or taking a dip in the saltwater pool at Priest’s Cove in the lee of the headland, or venturing a few miles further to discover Lands End, the Geevor Tin Mine or the Museum of Global Communications at Porthcurno.  Add to this a great selection of local pubs, cafes and shops at St Just and the beautiful sandy beaches at Sennen and Porthcurno just a few miles away, and you’re bound to find your holiday in Cape Cornwall is one to remember.

I have been visiting Land's End since 1969 - the area has been truly spoiled now it has the attractions. It used to be so peaceful with beautiful, natural surroundings - just as nature intended. The attractions have now completely ruined the area which is most disappointing. We have started visiting during the evening time only, when the attractions are closed, to try and see Land's End during it's 'quiet time'. Unfortunately, I doubt we will be visiting again - our family visited in a total of 3 cars and we were charged £6 each to park for one hour!!!!! Woulldn't mind if the car park was in good condition but it's a wreck!!!!
