The stunning views in Dartmoor start with barren peaks and granite tors rising up to 2000 ft before rolling down the moors to intimate wooded valleys filled with wildlife and fast flowing rivers. There is a lot more to Dartmoor than it's beautiful landscapes, with Neolithic monuments and farming on horseback to well-established arts and organic produce.
Many villages are dotted around Dartmoor, offering a friendly welcome, traditional dining and a nice relaxing place to have a drink after exploring the rugged landscape.
It's not uncommon to see the famous Dartmoor Ponies wander through the 700 miles of stunning scenic countryside.
