Well located in the South Hams district, Kingsbridge is perfectly situated for exploring the wider South Devon area. Having been the main market town in the region for centuries, Kingsbridge has become a popular destination for renting holiday cottages due to its location close to the coast, popular attractions and sailing destinations such as Salcombe.

With a range of restaurants and pubs as well as a good selection of shops and two supermarkets, Kingsbridge has plenty to offer visitors. The town is contained in a gorgeous valley with the picturesque Kingsbridge Estuary at the heart. For a beautiful day out, visitors can take a cruise on the River Maid up the estuary to Salcombe where passengers can disembark for a day on the beach or in the famous towns shops, cafes and restaurants.

As Salcombe's more undestated inland neighbour, our holiday cottages in Kingsbridge offer travellers a more relaxed and low key getaway whilst being perfectly located for anyone who is after a great choice of places to eat and drink. The town still offers good road access to the many wonderful beaches to be found throughout South Devon at Bantham, Thurlestone, Hope Cove, Torcross and beyond.

     

Year round, the Crabshell Inn enjoys the most prominent waterside location of any of the town's bars or restaurants. Offering delicious stone-baked pizzas amongst other things, the pub is the perfect place to head for a sun-downer or two whilst kids can catch crabs from the estuary walls or join a stand-up paddle session on the estuary itself (tide permitting of course!).

Throughout the summer months the town hosts various events and markets that make for a pleasant day out for all the family. The annual fair week brings an daily fun and activities whilst the popular Food and Music Festival (see our blog here) is a wonderful celebration of local talent and produce with some big names thrown in.
