As one of the regions most desired destinations, holiday homes in Salcombe are an increasingly popular choice for visitors to South Devon with the town rapidly becoming iconic as a playground for the rich and famous. A mecca for sailors and water sports enthusiast, Salcombe is the UK's answer to Saint-Tropez, offering a wonderful blend of old and new in the most stunning surroundings.

In the summer months, traditional sailing boats race past the Princess Yachts moored in the harbour, while sports cars cruise through the main street past buzzing designer clothes stores and local boutiques. The many shops and restaurants located by the waterfront give off a perfect nautical vibe, matching the boatbuilding heritage that has long served the local townfolk, lucky enough to live in this scenic, naturally sheltered harbour.

Ferry services make the short trip back and forth to the golden sands of East Portlemouth and the dog friendly beachs at Mill Bay and Sunny Cove whilst the energetic can pick up the South West Coastal Path to enjoy some unrivalled scenery. The beach at North Sands is an easy walk away, playing host to the Winking Prawn, an institution amongst locals and holiday makers, where diners can enjoy delicious food and drink at reasonable prices for breakfast, lunch or dinner... or all three if you fancy a full day on the beach.
The National Trust gardens of Overbeck's are just a little further along the coast at South Sands are well worth a visit for the spectactular views and world famous gardens, capable of growing a broad range of rare and exotic plants not commonly found on these shores thanks to the sites unique location, perched high on the coast line and open to the Gulf Stream.

Outside of the peak summer months, visitors can expect to find a much quieter town more akin to the sleepy devonshire settlements you might expect to find in the West Country. The shops and restaurants generally stay open though and the natural beauty of the area is ever abundant so Salcombe remains a fantastic holiday destination all year round.
