1 The Meadows is a charming, modest end of terrace cottage, surrounded on three sides by an attractive garden that is bordered by an open hillside and has valley views down to the estuary and the heights of Salcombe beyond. The cottage has been recently decorated, is fresh and bright and provides absolutely ideal accommodation for a family or friends sharing to enjoy this wonderful area. There are glorious doorstep walks down to and along the Salcombe estuary through National Trust woods to the jewel-like sandy beaches of Small's Cove, Mill Bay and Sunny Cove. Salcombe with its shops, quays, restaurants and pubs is easily reached by the East Portlemouth passenger ferry, a 10 minute walk from the cottage. In the summer the estuary becomes a boat lovers' haven, mixing luxury yachts, power boats and racing dinghies with plenty of seasonal fun, action and activities. At less busy times of the year the coastal paths beckon, and provide miles of wonderful walking along the South West Coastal Path.
A ccommodation:
Open porch to front door, off which is an outside WC . Front door to hallway . The attractive sitting room features a pretty Victorian open fireplace with a pine surround and French door that opens to a paved terrace with country views. The room is well furnished with 2 sofas, chair and TV/DVD. The large, spacious kitchen diner has a pantry cupboard, pine table to seat 8 and the kitchen a rea is well equipped and fitted with units, electric cooker, washing machine, dishwasher, larder fridge and freezer. Stairs from the hall to the landing. The sunny and bright double bedroom has 2ft 6in clip linked beds that form a large double, hanging hooks, sofa and dual aspect windows with views down to the estuary. Twin bedroom with two 3ft beds and range of fitted cupboards. A 'Z' bed is included here for use by an extra child. Bunk bedroom with 3ft full size bunks and valley views. Family bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.
Outside: From the parking area steps and a gravel path lead down to the cottage. The garden, not enclosed, has a lawn area beside the front door and extends around the cottage to a stone terrace in front of the sitting room and along the other side of the cottage. The garden, bordered by an open hillside, has views down to Salcombe estuary and enjoys a sunny aspect all day.
Included: Duvets, pillows, travel cot, high chair , fire laid up on arrival in winter and summer electricity .
Heating (Night storage and electric fan radiators) from end September to Spring Bank Holiday £35 per week.
Bed linen and towels may be able to be hired from an independent hire company - details from Toad Hall Cottages.
Parking: Designated space for one car. Further on road parking available.
Pets: Well behaved dogs welcome with security deposit of £50. Pet charge £25 per pet per week.
