Slipway Quay comprises 4 large properties fashioned from a mill and warehouses that once stored cargoes from ships moored alongside. This is now a very tranquil stretch of the tidal Tamar Estuary, where from the marvellous balcony of No. 4 one can sit and watch the abundant bird life at both high and low tides, or enjoy the passing craft that ply their way from the historic dockyard of Plymouth to the upper reaches of the estuary to the National Trust's Cotehele House or Morwellham Quay, a 'living' Victorian village, port and copper mine. Cargreen is an off the beaten track, unspoilt, peaceful village with a pub and within easy reach of the rest of Cornwall and South Devon. The property is spacious, very comfortable and has outstanding views from every room, in fact it is not difficult to imagine one could be afloat as the balcony extends over the water at high tide! Crabbing lines and a fishing rod are provided too. This is an outstanding waterside setting.
Accommodation:
Front door into hallway. Cloakroom with shower, basin and WC. Large, very spacious living room with flame effect electric fire, TV with DVD player, desk, telescope, sofas, chairs, table to seat eight and double aspect windows with fabulous views directly over the estuary. Three steps up to glazed doors that open to the decked balcony. Well equipped kitchen with fitted oak units, ceramic electric hob, eye level double oven, waste disposal unit, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge/freezer. Stairs up to the landing. The master bedroom has pretty painted furniture, 5ft wrought iron bedstead and French doors opening onto the smaller upper balcony with stunning views. En-suite shower room with shower, basin and WC. Two further twin bedrooms with 3ft pine beds, one with double aspect windows and a single futon bed suitable for a child, the other with a fitted hanging cupboard. Bathroom with Spa bath, basin, WC, bidet and separate shower.
Outside: A corridor from the parking area leads to each totally separate apartment. The balcony off the living room, provided with table, chairs and barbecue, extends the length of the apartment to a gate. The walkway beyond the gate is a fire escape only. There is a locked gate from the balcony (key provided) to a ladder that extends down to the water. A private shared slipway alongside the buildings is for small craft and kayak use.
