Buckland Court is located in delightful countryside 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within fifteen minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town, is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery, is within easy reach. Buckland is extremely well situated for a wide range of both indoor and outdoor pursuits and is close to some of the best sandy beaches in the South West.
The cottages are set around a pretty lower courtyard with summer hanging baskets, vines, a shady mimosa tree and benches.
They are very comfortable and well furnished. The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have a gas fire in the living area. There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. All cottages are equipped with iron, ironing board, TV and most have a VCR.
The resident caretaker is conversant in both German and French.

Outside: An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond, populated by ducks and geese, and a sweep of 1.5 acre grounds including a grassy area suitable for outdoor games, an orchard and a large built-in barbecue with picnic benches beside the lower pond, where guests can relax and children play.

With its lounge on the first floor, which overlooks the lower courtyard and offers a delightfully light and airy feel, this popular cottage offers an unusual aspect to holiday living. Having been substantially extended into the old corner store and refurbished throughout, the property now offers a particularly high standard of accommodation with a versatile layout over two floors and can sleep 5 to 7 people. The attention to detail and decor, in an American country style, makes you feel instantly relaxed and a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living.
On the ground floor the entrance hallway leads to a good sized twin bedroom with exposed beams, good quality pine beds, newly refitted bathroom with white suite (bath, shower over, basin and WC) tiled floor, shaker style panelling and exposed beams.
Upstairs to a small landing area. Light, airy and spacious lounge with comfortable seating including a beech slatted double sofa-bed, reclaimed pine furniture, flame-effect gas fire, Sky TV, video/DVD, books and games.
Door to an inner hallway and the newly extended part of the cottage. To one side is a large bright dining/ kitchen with an unusual vaulted ceiling with velux roof window and remote control blind over the dining area. The kitchen area is fully equipped with cream painted units and walnut effect worktops, table to seat 6, a dishwasher and high chair.
To the other side of the extension there is a superbly equipped shower room with a double size power shower, heated towel rail and tiled floors. Master bedroom with attractive bleached pine double bedstead and matching furniture; this room also feels light and airy due to its high vaulted ceiling and large velux roof window with remote control blind. The bedroom has a door leading to a single bedroom, furnished in pine, which can also be accessed from the hallway.
