Butterwells

Butterwells

Moreleigh

Self catering holiday cottage

South Devon

Butterwells is an ideal choice to get away from it all, secluded, beautifully rural with walks along ancient Green Lanes that criss-cross the farm, fishing at the neighbours' trout lake and within easy reach of the many beaches of the South Hams coastline and stunning walks on Dartmoor. Hidden in a beautiful secluded wooded valley, surrounded by farmland and streams and at the end of a long winding private drive is Cleave Farm, a lovely rambling farmstead dating back to Domesday times with listed barns and 100 acres of pasture and woodland. Butterwells is a charming, cosy, detached and converted barn set in its own very spacious private grounds and reached by its own drive. The cottage features original stone walls, fine Douglas Fir floors and doors and has been thoughtfully and delightfully decorated and furnished. Butterwells suits couples, friends or families of all ages who want space to explore and unwind in an enchanting atmosphere. "A wonderful slice of Devon/heaven - such a magical atmosphere - we'll be back"

Accommodation
Stable door into attractive open plan living room with feature stone walls, original slit windows and fine wood floor. The sitting area has attractive comfortable sofa and chairs with rugs on the floor, TV, DVD player, video recorder and door to the rear of the property. Basket of toys, childrens videos and games as well as books and magazines. The kitchen/dining area is very well fitted with attractive 'shaker' style units with electric hob, built-in electric oven, fridge, integrated dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and pine table with seating for 4. Stairs lead to a landing and two delightful bright bedrooms both with large windows, wooden floors with rugs and set beneath exposed A frames of the roof. Off the landing and between the two bedrooms (one with 4ft 6in double bed and the other with 3ft twin beds) is the bathroom with bath, basin and WC.

Outside: The cottage is reached by its own private driveway that sweeps into the large private garden with sloping lawns that rise to tree lined banks and views across fields and orchards. Immediately outside the cottage is a raised level lawn with a paved area with garden furniture and barbecue. Steps curve down to the front door. To the rear of the cottage is a further lawn that borders the owners' farmhouse. A rambling 18th Century barn borders one side of the garden area and the butterwells from which the cottage takes its name, an unusual feature of the garden, are situated beside a shallow pond.
