This sweet little detached timber chalet is situated with the fairies in its own private garden having trees on three sides. By Chy is reached via its own entrance and descending steps and pathways. It is a beautiful peaceful spot, ideal for a couple though with the ability of also accommodating two children and/or a baby. Crackington Haven , popular for its coastal path walks and surfing is also of special geological interest. The village, 800 yards away, is unspoilt, sparsely populated with a handful of pretty cottages set on the hillside. There is a family pub/hotel, cafés and shops adjacent to and overlooking the Atlantic ocean and sandy beach with interesting rock pools. Originally a small port importing limestone and coal, exporting slate and of course the 'wreckers' and smuggling was a popular infamous trade. It was in the vicinity that Thomas Hardy began his romance with Emma whom he married. The area was used for his third novel 'A Pair of Blue Eyes'.
Cream tea on arrival.
