Toad Hall Cottages

Buckland Court is located in delightful countryside 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within fifteen minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town, is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery, is within easy reach. Buckland is extremely well situated for a wide range of both indoor and outdoor pursuits and is close to some of the best sandy beaches in the South West.
The cottages are set around a pretty lower courtyard with summer hanging baskets, vines, a shady mimosa tree and benches. They are very comfortable and well furnished. The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have a gas fire in the living area. There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. All cottages are equipped with iron, ironing board, TV and most have a VCR.
The resident caretaker is conversant in both German and French.

Outside: An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond, populated by ducks and geese, and a sweep of 1.5 acre grounds including a grassy area suitable for outdoor games, an orchard and a large built-in barbecue with picnic benches beside the lower pond, where guests can relax and
children play.

Chestnut Cottage Accommodation:

Situated on the ground floor in the charming lower courtyard of Buckland Court, Chestnut is an attractive, roomy cottage for two or three. There are no access steps or within the cottage, which makes it particularly suitable for those with walking disabilities and enables easy push chair access.
Shared entrance hall with Maple cottage. Front door into small hallway that leads into a spacious very comfortable living room with two sofas (one a sofa-bed), gas fire, TV with video/DVD player, plenty of books and dining table to seat 4. The kitchen area is well equipped and has a gas hob with electric oven, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. The comfortable bedroom has twin 3ft beds and attractive pine furniture. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, WC and over-bath clothes dryer.

Duvets, pillows, electricity, central heating (gas) included.
Bed linen, towels, cots, high chairs may be hired from THC.
