Gara Bridge, a quintessential hump-back stone bridge, straddles the River Avon in this deep wooded and peaceful valley, tucked in the very heart of the South Hams. Gara Bridge Cottages are a very special group of three self catering cottages, two were formally toll houses, the third is a newly converted reverse level barn, and all are grouped around a courtyard and have safe enclosed gardens. Within easy distance of the bustling medieval market town of Totnes and with convenient access to Dartmoor National Park and the renowned and abundant south coast beaches that are within an 8 mile radius, these cottages are ideally placed.
The cottages, that share use of a fabulous heated indoor swimming pool, are 200 yards from the river across a paddock for picnicking and paddling, and there are 300 metres of private, single bank, salmon and trout fishing. The cottages have pretty enclosed gardens with a children's play area, a games room and Moonriver has its own private orchard garden in a tucked away spot. All the cottages have been newly decorated and the owners, who favour 'Green Tourism', have taken enormous trouble to create a simple, yet different feel, adding the 'wow' factor to these charming properties that can be let individually or to groups of families, who want to be separate but together. Mulberry and Rowan have a connecting door for extended families. The cottages are fully centrally heated and have open fires, so ideal for winter breaks and are well stocked with books, games and toys.

Relaxing Spa area to lounge in a torrent of bubbles.

300 metres single bank fishing rights on the River Avon. Fly fishing only with permits available from local post office.

Woodland Nature Trail along former coach drive with glorious views from the coach bridge.

Moonriver is an outstanding, new and separate detached cottage.

Moonriver Accommodation:
Door to hallway with coat hooks and stairs up to very spacious and attractive, open plan, living room, lovely country views from the windows and with three large comfortable sofas (one a 4ft 6in sofa bed), chairs, TV with DVD player, a corner woodburner and dining table to seat 6. The kitchen area is smart, very well equipped with electric hob, built-under electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. From this lovely room there is a door to a raised deck area with garden furniture. This extends out into a private apple orchard garden with attractive valley views. On the ground floor are two bedrooms, one a 5ft double with en-suite shower room with shower, basin and WC; the other a twin room with 3ft beds that can be zip linked to form a large double. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Cupboard with washer/dryer in hallway.

Outside: Moonriver has its own private orchard garden and deck with access from the first floor living room.

Duvets, pillows, bed linen, towels (please bring own beach towels) travel cot, high chair, stairgate and electricity all included.
Central heating (gas) from end September to Spring Bank Holiday £25 per week. Initial supply of coal/logs for open fires and wood burner included, thereafter for purchase.
Pets: Maximum of 2.Pet charge £20 per pet per week.
Telephone: Public telephone box with email & text next to Rowan. Payphone in Pool building.

A central courtyard provides ample parking for the cottages.
Beaches from 8 miles. Pubs at California Cross 1.5 miles; Morleigh 2.5 miles. Totnes 7 miles. Kingsbridge and the Salcombe estuary 8 miles.
