Toad Hall Cottages

Buckland Court is located in delightful countryside 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within fifteen minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town, is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery, is within easy reach. Buckland is extremely well situated for a wide range of both indoor and outdoor pursuits and is close to some of the best sandy beaches in the South West.
The cottages are set around a pretty lower courtyard with summer hanging baskets, vines, a shady mimosa tree and benches. They are very comfortable and well furnished. The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have a gas fire in the living area. There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. All cottages are equipped with iron, ironing board, TV and most have a VCR.
The resident caretaker is conversant in both German and French.

Outside: An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond, populated by ducks and geese, and a sweep of 1.5 acre grounds including a grassy area suitable for outdoor games, an orchard and a large built-in barbecue with picnic benches beside the lower pond, where guests can relax and children play.


Maple Accommodation
Maple Cottage offers self-contained, tastefully decorated first floor accommodation with private landing and entrance hall, leading to a light and airy open plan living room. This comprises; comfortable sofa, chairs and window seat; dining table to seat 4; TV/DVD FM Radio; fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, microwave and refrigerator.
Off the entrance hall, there is one double bedroom and one twin-bedded room, both with built-in wardrobes and matching pine furniture. There is a bright and spacious bathroom incorporating bath with shower over, basin and WC. A hairdryer is made available for the convenience of guests. Linen is included in the price.
This first floor location has the benefit of a delightful outlook, with views across the courtyard and up the tree lined driveway.
