This charming 18th century, detached, stone cottage is in a truly glorious waterfront setting, adjacent to a grassy quay on the tidal River Tavy, that widens out into the Tamar estuary, the border between Devon and Cornwall. Beautifully and very comfortably furnished the cottage with feature beams, is warm and inviting and very much home from home with gorgeous views from most rooms and has a tasteful modern extension at the rear opening to a secluded garden.
Located in a delightful village with a pub, Saturday shop and well-equipped playground and tennis court, there are endless opportunities for great walking, bird watching, riding, tennis and boating with crabbing from the quay for the young and a launching slip adjacent to the cottage. A special feature of the village is the Tamar Valley railway station, where trains run direct to Plymouth (20 minutes) and across the Tamar to Gunnislake in Cornwall. So come to this very special place and experience a rather different aspect of Devon with everything on the doorstep, including Cornwall!
Accommodation:
A glazed entrance porch opens into the most attractive and comfortable sitting room, furnished with a sofa, chairs, TV with DVD and a fireplace inset with a wood burner. An adjoining galley kitchen with fine handcrafted fittings, dishwasher and microwave leads out to a well equipped kitchen/dining room with oak floor, fridge, freezer, gas hob, double ovens, coffee machine and dining table to seat 6. French windows open to the patio and garden. Off the living room is an unusual den, a snug room with TV and video, a single 3ft bed, and a double sleeping platform above (reached by a sturdy ladder), great for children.
