Secluded but not remote the house is set on a hillside amongst 12 acres of mixed woodland overlooking the green pastures of a fertile valley leading to the delightful River Avon renowned for its beauty, wading birds, swans and snowy white egrets. Access on foot via private paths to the Avon Estuary Walk. Were Down, a much loved family home, has been divided to provide separate, self-contained accommodation for visitors combining the benefits of privacy with someone on hand to help if necessary.

Entrance hall. Large sitting/dining room with open fireplace housing woodburning stove, comfortable seating, large dining table and chairs and TV/DVD. French window to raised terrace overlooking the Avon valley. Archway to fitted kitchen/breakfast room with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, breakfast table and chairs. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Washing machine (drying by arrangement with owner). Upstairs: Large bedroom with a fantastic view and twin 3ft beds. One double bedroom (4ft 6in bed), dual aspect with basin. One smaller bedroom with 3ft single bed with pull out bed underneath. Bathroom with bath (shower attachment), basin and WC.

Outside: Raised terrace (not enclosed), perfect for eating al-fresco at large picnic table or just for sitting out. Freedom to wander in large garden below the house. Grounds also include a fenced hidden garden with unfenced pond.

Central heating (oil) charge £25 per week end of September to Spring Bank holiday.
Pets One dog by special arrangement with the owner and THC. £50 security deposit for dog to be paid to owner. Pets charge £20 per pet per week.

Beaches Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island with sandy beaches only three and a half miles. Fabulous short walks on woodland paths and around Avon estuary.
Good pubs and eating places close by including the famous 'Oyster Shack' restaurant. Holywell Stores at St. Ann's Chapel gets better and better - voted best small shop in South Hams favouring local produce.
