Westmoore Farm, Cider PressDiptfordSelf catering holiday cottageSouth Devon |
Westmoore Farm Cottages are an exclusive set of beautifully restored and converted farm buildings, an integral part of Westmoore Farm, a working livestock farm (farm tours welcomed by arrangement), and set in 30 acres of lovely rolling Devon countryside. Set deep in the heart of the South Hams, the 16th Century, Grade II listed site is just 2 miles from the charming villages of Diptford and Avonwick, both on the banks of the glorious River Avon, and only 2.5 miles from the A38 giving very easy access to the whole of the West Country. With Dartmoor to the north and the coast to the south, all within a ten mile radius, Westmoore is very centrally located, so with the facilities on site, good walking from the doorstep, the choices are unlimited.
The farm is run by a family who have personally supervised the recent restoration of these fine buildings, resulting in delightful spacious dwellings set around a paved, terraced and part lawn courtyard. Each property is tastefully decorated, furnished and equipped to the highest standard, with many personal and attractive touches in each. The floors are mainly polished stripped pine, bright with scatter rugs, the bedrooms are carpeted and there is under-floor heating in the tiled bath and shower rooms. All double beds are standard 4ft 6in, and singles 3ft. The very well equipped 'shaker' style kitchens all have a tiled terracotta floor, integral fridge/freezer, dishwasher, ceramic hob, built-under electric oven, microwave and stainless steel extractor fan. Attractive contemporary oak furniture, comfortable sofas, log burners (in Cider Press, and Hayloft only), TVs with DVD, with extra aerial points in all bedrooms, radio/CD players and many attractive ceiling beams complete these spacious, light and airy holiday homes. A delightful environment for a relaxing holiday for extended families or groups, and indeed smaller families and couples.
Outside: Each cottage has its own patio area with garden furniture. Cider Press and Millstone have small grass areas extending into the central courtyard. The Byre has a small garden to one side. The Hayloft has two patios.
The properties are supplied with a private filtered and UV treated water supply - Devon water at its best.
