Whiddons is wonderful! Breathtaking views meet the eye from every window from Burgh Island and across the sandy reaches to where the River Avon meets the sea at Bantham Beach, possibly the best sand and surfing beach in the South West. The property is situated on the edge of this pretty coastal village, with its exceptional beach, excellent hostelry, the Sloop Inn and ready access to the coastal path with fabulous walks to Thurlestone and beyond. Immediately adjacent to the house is a path to the quay on the Avon estuary where, with the Harbour Master's agreement, moorings can be arranged and boats launched. A slightly longer jaunt along the 'ham' and on through the dunes brings you to the beach. This outstanding property is the top two floors of a fine 17th century house with Victorian additions that was originally the old village forge. The beautiful hand painted furniture, stripped pine doors, superb furnishings and high quality décor all complement the stunning vistas that can be enjoyed from every room. What more could you want!

Accommodation
Steps lead up from shared courtyard to front door that leads into a light and spacious hallway. Stairs up to superb open plan living room. A wide bay window with cushioned window seats and table overlook fabulous views across the estuary and towards Burgh Island. Large comfortable sofa, chairs, TV, video and music centre. Dining table to seat 8. The handsome kitchen area with breakfast bar and stools, is beautifully equipped and fitted with electric double oven and halogen hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a separate utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, pulley dryer and WC. From the hallway are four bedrooms. Master bedroom with 5ft bed, built-in cupboard and en suite shower room with shower, basin and WC. Small single bedroom (3ft bed) with room for a cot. Twin bedroom with 3ft beds and wardrobe. Further twin bedroom with 3ft beds, both with pull-out full size beds beneath. (Space is limited when pull-out beds are extended.) Fitted wardrobe and TV. Bathroom with bath and shower over, basin and WC.

Outside: From the shared rear courtyard accessed from the parking area, a walkway extends around the side of the house to spacious lawns that slope gently down to a low stone wall and paved terrace overlooking the Avon estuary. Table, chairs, sun loungers and parasol provided. The garden is separated by a trellis from the ground floor flat's garden, with access through to a gate leading down to the path to the quay.
