Lydia Mill is situated on the River Avon at Lydia Bridge, a tiny hamlet on the southern edge of Dartmoor. The property consists of the Mill, converted some years ago into a most attractive single-storey cottage, and the original house, also built in the 16th century, which has been divided into two dwellings, one of which is Wisteria Cottage. The grounds and garden are approximately one acre. The section of the garden below the wonderful falls is on the river bank and is available to all. A delightful and tranquil spot for contemplation. There is a public footpath on the opposite bank of the river leading into the village of South Brent (10 minutes). Most of the essentials of life are available in the village. The cottages are ideally located for touring Dartmoor and the South Hams being only two miles off the A38 Devon Expressway thus avoiding the holiday traffic. Dartmoor is easily accessible by foot or car.

Wisteria Cottage Accommodation
This quaint little cottage, with its low beam ceilings, dates from the early 1500s. Its charming 16th century features of exposed timbers and slate floors haven't sacrificed modern comforts. The river and waterfall create a delightful waterfront garden and perfect ambience for a happy holiday.
Cosy and comfortable sitting room with exposed low ceiling beams, original flagstone floor, woodburning stove, TV/video. Kitchen/ diner with feature wall with exposed timbers, electric hob, microwave and conventional ovens, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, dining area with table and settles. Authentic steep stone, spiral staircase to a very pretty bedroom overlooking Lydia Bridge and the river with a 5ft double bed. Shower room (shower only). Separate WC and basin. Dormered second bedroom with two single beds. The cottage is not suitable for babies or toddlers.

Duvets, blankets also available, pillows, bed linen, towels and starter pack of logs included.
Electricity and night store heating is metered and paid for on departure. Both properties have night storage heating and wood burners. Additional supplies of logs may be purchased.

While the riverfront location is delightful, the inherent hazards of open water mean it may not be suitable for children.
