Buckland Court is located in delightful South Hams countryside 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within 15 minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Buckland Court is well situated for a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits including golf (see below for discount details).

The cottages are very comfortable and well furnished and set around a pretty lower courtyard with summer hanging baskets, a shady mimosa tree and benches.

The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have central heating, a gas fire in the living area and are equipped with iron and ironing board.
There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, dryer and freezer. There is a large range of local information and in season a small incubator , who knows what you might see hatch during your stay!
The resident caretaker keeps a whiteboard up to date with the latest sightings of wildlife, can lend a bat detector, is conversant in German and French and is always ready with suggestions that will help you get the most out of your holiday.

Outside: An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond populated by ducks and geese and a sweep of grass and orchard (1.5 acre) including a built in barbecue with picnic benches where guests can relax and young people can play outdoor games.

Accommodation: Apple is a delightful small, refurbished, modern cottage. The ground floor entrance is next to the gate leading to the spacious grounds. There is a charming, cosy open-plan living room with polished floor, a large comfortable settee, chairs and dining table; large screen TV with Freeview, DVD and video player (some tapes and DVDs provided), radio and hi-fi with CD player & iPod connection; books and games. Directors chairs stored under the stairs (can be taken into the garden). The fully equipped kitchen has a gas hob, built-in electric oven and grill, microwave & refrigerator. Upstairs there are 3 bright bedrooms furnished in pine: one double, one twin and one single room. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Extra freezer space is available in the laundry room.
