Atlantic House is perched high above Challaborough Bay in a simply magnificent location with uninterrupted, spectacular views of this very special part of the South Devon coastline. The house is on two floors with unparalleled views from most rooms and is a most comfortable and much loved family home in an outstanding location. This is a paradise for swimming, sailing, surfing, walking or just sunbathing on the 50 foot long terrace overlooking the sea. Situated on the South Devon coastal path, Atlantic House is a few minutes' walk from the fabulous beaches of Challaborough and Bigbury Bay - home to Burgh Island with its famous Art Deco Hotel and the ancient Pilchard Inn, which is accessible on foot at low tide and reached via the sea tractor when the tide is in. There are breathtaking views everywhere, a treat in store for family groups with sun, sea and sand in abundance.
Accommodation: From the front door stairs from the first floor lead down to the ground floor inner hallway. Shower room with power shower, basin and WC. Attractive sitting room, divided by arches into two areas and amply provided with sofas and chairs, Freeview TV/DVD, selection of DVD's and an open fireplace. Glazed doors open to the sun room which stretches the length of the house, has stunning views and is provided with cane sofa and chairs, iPod speakers and dining table to seat up to 12. Kitchen at the rear of the house has fitted units, electric cooker with double oven, ceramic hob, microwave, larder fridge, tumble dryer, washing machine, dishwasher and extends into a preparation area with further units and fridge/freezer. A stable door leads to the rear of the house. Off the sitting room is a storage/drying area and from here a door into the master suite. Bedroom 1: This is a lovely large room that has glazed doors opening to a conservatory and stunning views. The bedroom area has a 5ft double bed, fitted cupboards, a 2ft 6in divan bed and en-suite bathroom with bath, electric shower over, basin and WC. Upstairs all the bedrooms have sea views. Bedroom 2: double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed, en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Bedroom 3: Bunk bedroom with full size 3ft bunk beds, plus a camp bed suitable for a child. This room has access through to the adjacent bathroom which is en-suite to bedroom 2. Bedroom 4: Twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, fitted cupboards, en-suite bathroom with bath, basin and WC. Bedroom 5: double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed, fitted cupboards, wonderful views and en-suite bathroom with bath, electric shower over, basin and WC.
Outside: Parking is alongside the property wall in a private road which leads to the South Devon Coastal Path and is a no through road for traffic. A gate leads down steps to the front door at first
floor level. A second set of steps lead down to the side of the house, where there is a store room for the large Weber barbecue, loungers and outdoor furniture. This extends around to the railed terrace across the front of the house overlooking the sea and provided with table, benches and parasol. Railed steps lead down to two lawned garden terraces - young children need supervision in the garden.
Included: Bed linen, towels (guests to supply own beach towels), standard cot, booster seat, summer electricity and initial supply of logs in winter.
