Buckland Court is located in delightful South Hams countryside 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within 15 minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Buckland Court is well situated for a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits including golf (see 'applicable to all cottages' for discount details).
The cottages are very comfortable and well furnished and set around a pretty courtyard with summer hanging baskets and benches.
The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have central heating, a gas fire in the living area and are equipped with iron and ironing board. There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, dryer and freezer. There is a large range of local information and in season a small incubator, who knows what you might see hatch during your stay!
The resident caretaker keeps a whiteboard up to date with the latest sightings of wildlife, can lend you a bat detector, a metal detector or a telescope and is conversant in German and French. He is always ready with suggestions that will help you get the most out of your holiday.

Outside: An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond populated by ducks and a sweep of grass and orchard (1.5 acres) including a built in barbecue with picnic benches where guests can relax and young people can play outdoor games.

Beeches Accommodation
Beeches Cottage is the largest at Buckland Court, has full central heating and sleeps 6 to 8 people in three bedrooms with full-size beds, and a sofa bed in the living room. Beeches Cottage's spacious living and dining accommodation means that it can be used by larger groups and for more intimate family holidays. Downstairs, a striking feature of the cottage is its spacious open plan living and dining room. The dining area has oak laminated floor and a fully equipped kitchen, including microwave, freezer and dishwasher. There is a step down to the large living area with gas log effect fire, two big three seater sofas (one being a full-sized sofa-bed) and three armchairs. There is a TV, DVD and a stereo system. Upstairs a huge picture window looks out from the landing over the orchard and gardens. The master suite comprises a large double bedroom with sofa and TV and an en-suite
bathroom. The bedroom has views over the duck ponds and gardens across rolling countryside towards Dartmoor. There are two further good sized twin bedrooms each with two 3ft beds and a second bathroom. Both the family bathroom and the en-suite have showers over the baths.
