This charming 18th century, white washed, detached cottage is situated in the delightful village of Stoke Fleming, renowned for its friendly community and proximity to the marvellous beach of Blackpool Sands. The cottage has old connections with Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, hence its name, and nestles below the historic village church. Across the village street, and only a few steps away, is The Green Dragon, a hostelry well known for its famous yachtsman publican.
Accommodation:
The entrance from the lane is through a door in the wall into a paved, walled courtyard with flower beds and with access to the front garden. Large store room with automatic washing machine and tumble dryer. The front door opens into the sitting room, an attractive bright room, with large windows looking through the conservatory to the garden beyond. Open fireplace inset with gas fired 'log burner' and there is a shelved alcove, 2 sofas and TV with DVD and video recorder. The understairs cupboard houses travel cot, high chair and ironing board. Half glazed doors lead into the sunny conservatory, furnished with comfortable chairs and small table, with access to the garden. Well equipped kitchen/diner with electric cooker, microwave oven, dishwasher, small fridge, coffee cafetiere, a range of fitted units and pretty painted dresser. Attractive alcove shelving in dining area with table and seating for five. Dual aspect windows. Fairly steep stairs, with handrail, to landing. Double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed and dual aspect windows. Large fitted pine wardrobe with hanging space and shelves, chest of drawers and small closed Victorian fireplace. NS water heating control. Small twin bedroom with 2 x 3ft beds. Fitted alcove wardrobe and chest of drawers. Central bathroom with individual access from both bedrooms. Bath with hand-held shower attachment, basin, WC, heated towel rail, electric wall heater, bathroom cabinet and airing cupboard.
Outside: Two steps up from the conservatory into lovely sunlit lawned area, perfect for barbecues and bordered on one side by the church wall and flower beds and looking across the garden wall to the cottages and pub over the lane. Garden furniture and table for four and barbecue. Paved path to a gate with steps down to shared wrought iron gate onto road level.
