Camac Cottage

Camac Cottage

Hope Cove

Self catering holiday cottage

South Devon

Camac is a lovely beachside holiday cottage, just a few steps from two golden sandy beaches where lazy summer days can be idled away digging sand castles, indulging in serious cream teas, paddling in the rock pools but close enough to nip back 'home' to cool off and have a sand-free lunch in the garden! This delightful terraced cottage, originally a air of coastguard cottages, is tucked below Shippens, the grassy hillock, that divides the beaches of Outer and Inner Hope in the middle of the picturesque seaside fishing village of Hope Cove. Fresh and comfortable with a most attractive sea-side theme throughout, this is a wonderful spot at any time of the year. There are doorstep walks onto the beautiful NT headland of Bolt Tail with spectacular panoramic views of this part of South Devon and the coastal path rambles in one direction to Salcombe and the other to Thurlestone and beyond.

 Accommodation:
The front door opens directly into a spacious, attractive sitting room with floor tiles, a feature fireplace housing a wood burner and furnished with two large sofas, chairs, TV with video, DVD and plenty of books and games, plus stereo/CD player. Galley style kitchen with pine dresser,
large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and electric cooker. Steps up and access to rear garden. Door to 'snug', a quiet corner with armchair and fireplace (not in use), this room opens into a spacious dining room with slate floor and dining table to seat 8. Off the kitchen is the downstairs bathroom with bath, shower over and basin. Separate WC. The cottage has two sets of turned stairs. From the sitting room one leads to
a bunk room with 3ft full size bunks and a double bedroom with a 4ft 6in wrought iron bedstead, wardrobe and village views.
This room has a connecting door to the second double room. From the 'snug' the second staircase leads to another bunk room with full size 3ft bunks (note: an awkward step into this room from the stairs) and the second double bedroom with large 5ft bed.

Outside: At the rear of the cottage is an unfenced lawned area, with picnic bench and low walls on one side. (There are no fenced boundaries between the garden areas of the other cottages). The ground rises and extends on to the higher part of the hillside. This natural area is owned by all the cottages in the row, so is communal and although the views from the top are spectacular, children will need very careful supervision as it is unfenced and the land drops away as a vertical cliff face to the sea below. The front of the cottage faces a single track lane, mainly used as a footpath between the beaches. A very large shared garage is a few
steps away where there is designated parking for one car.

Included: Duvets, pillows, child booster seat, travel cot, initial supply of logs, summer electricity and  heating .
Bed linen and towels may be able to be hired from an independent hire company - details from Toad Hall Cottages.
Heating (night storage) and electricity by £1 coin meter. The meter will be unlocked, and therefore free, from Spring Bank Holiday to the end of September, at all other times the  meter will need to be fed.
Parking: Private parking for one car, in large shared garage close to the cottage.
No smoking
Telephone:
No telephone. Mobile reception poor (but possible from the bench outside the Post Office).
Beaches Mouthwell Beach, Harbour Beach and the Coastal Path a few minutes walk.
Pub 50 yards.
Shops, restaurant, village P/O/stores a minute's walk.
Salcombe 4 miles. Kingsbridge 5 miles.
Property: Self-Catering holiday cottage.
