A short walk down the lane leads to The Ferry Boat Inn, a popular waterside pub and the pontoon where children enjoy 'crabbing' and the river ferry can be summoned by a ringing a bell for trips across to the NT house of Greenway, Agatha Christie's former home. Pedestrian ferries ply the river between Totnes upstream and Dartmouth at the mouth of the river and there are footpaths for scenic riverside walks on both sides of the river. This is a delightful holiday cottage with the benefit of its own parking and set in a prime waterside village in the South Hams.

Front door into hallway. Corridor to the most attractive sitting room with polished block wood floor, a log burner set in a hearth, stunning striped sofa and chaise longue, easy chair, wide screen digital TV with DVD plus a collection of DVD's and CD/ radio music centre. Sliding doors open to a decked conservatory provided with table chairs and cane furniture , a good spot for games. Very smart, well equipped kitchen/diner with dining table to seat 6 and a range of cream units with ceramic hob, built-under oven, integral washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and central island with two stools. A side porch off the kitchen provides storage space for wetsuits, wellies and coats. There are two downstairs bedrooms both with attractive white furniture, one a double with 4ft 6in bed and garden views, the other a twin bedroom with 3ft beds. Very smart contemporary bathroom with double ended bath with central taps, large separate shower, heated towel rail, basin and WC. Further separate WC with basin. Carpeted stairs from the hallway lead to the attic bedroom, with sloping ceiling, velux window, TV, under-eaves cupboards, hanging rail and pretty white 4ft 6in bedstead.

Outside: There is a parking bay for two small cars, or one large. Eleven steps from the gate lead up to the very pretty private and enclosed garden, with border shrubs, level lawn, great views, a terrace area provided with table and chairs and stone steps up to a higher level where there is a small lawn and even better views.
