Buckland Court is located in delightful countryside 1.5 miles from the historic village of Slapton with its world famous nature reserve, 3 mile beach and excellent real ale pubs. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within 15 minutes drive, both with interesting shops, fine restaurants, boat trips, sailing and much more. Totnes, a quaint Elizabethan town is 9 miles away and Dartmoor, with wonderful walking and spectacular scenery is within easy reach. Buckland Court is well situated for a wide range of indoor and outdoor pursuits including golf (see below for discount details).
The cottages are very comfortable and well furnished and set around a pretty lower courtyard with summer hanging baskets and benches.
The kitchens are well equipped with gas hobs, cooker extractor hoods, built-under ovens, fridges and microwaves. All beds are standard size (4ft 6in doubles, 3ft singles). The bathrooms all have a shower over the bath, hand basin and WC. All cottages have central heating, a gas fire in the living area and are equipped with iron and ironing board.
There is a large communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine, dryer and freezer. There is a large range of local information and in season a small incubator ? who knows what you might see hatch during your stay!
The resident caretaker keeps a whiteboard up to date with the latest sightings of wildlife, can lend a bat detector, is conversant in German and French and is always ready with suggestions that will help you get the most out of your holiday.
 
Outside: An archway in the corner of the lower courtyard (separated by a substantial gate) opens out to a large pond populated by ducks and geese and a sweep of grass and orchard (1.5 acre) including a built in barbecue with picnic benches where guests can relax and young people can play outdoor games.

Chestnut Cottage Accommodation :
Situated on the ground floor in the charming lower courtyard of Buckland Court, Chestnut is an attractive, roomy cottage for two or three. There are no access steps or within the cottage, which makes it particularly suitable for those with walking disabilities and enables easy push chair access.
Shared entrance hall with Maple cottage. Front door into small hallway that leads into a spacious very comfortable living room with two sofas (one a sofa-bed), gas fire, TV with video/DVD player, plenty of books and dining table to seat 4. The kitchen area is well equipped and has a gas hob with electric oven, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. The comfortable bedroom has twin 3ft beds and attractive pine furniture. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, WC and over-bath clothes dryer.
