Brand new with Toad Hall Cottages for 2012, two welcoming retreats in an idyllic location.
These two delightful holiday retreats (see also CRCIDE)are in a secluded location, nestled amongst the soft hills of the picturesque Avon valley in Devon, close to the river that flows through this beautiful part of the South Hams and conveniently just a few miles from the golden sandy beaches of Bantham and Bigbury on Sea. Situated on a working organic farm rearing South Devon cattle, guests can meander through the fields dotted with mature oaks that slope gently down to the half mile of wild salmon and trout in a privately owned river with a riverside beach . Here the children can play whilst the adults tend the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal on the picnic furniture. There are some splendid walks to enjoy; either along the riverbank or through the surrounding countryside and guests
are welcome to wander in the 80 acres belonging to the farm when appropriate. For those who enjoy a traditional tipple the welcoming owners are happy to walk the 5 minutes up the hill to show you around their renowned family owned organic cider and apple juice company, Heron Valley, where you can sample and purchase these refreshing drinks. The bustling market town of Kingsbridge is a short distance away at the head of a scenic estuary that flows down to Salcombe, a boating Mecca with plenty of safe sandy family beaches. So with beautiful tranquil surroundings, access to plenty of top class pubs and restaurants, farm shops providing a wealth of local produce and a host of family excursions to choose from we can't think of a better place to spend some time unwinding and enjoying just being in Devon.
