We are delighted to be able to offer this wonderful family property in pretty village Slapton village, close to the sea.  

Florence House is a distinctive period property in the heart of the popular village of Slapton, a short distance from the south Devon coast and the beach at Torcross.  Built in the late 1800's it has great character and charm and provides comfortable accommodation with a cosy sitting room that opens onto a sunny rear conservatory, a kitchen and dining room as well as three comfortable bedrooms with the addition of a basement children's' room/occasional bedroom and the added benefit of a large garden and generous parking.  The pretty village of Slapton is a tumble of picturesque cottages with two great pubs, a village shop and borders the Slapton Ley Nature Reserve.   The South West Coastal Path passes close by and invites the visitor to enjoy some spectacular coastal walks, a perfect one being the walk to Start Point, passing through the seaside villages of Beeson and Hallsands on the way.  The historic naval port of Dartmouth with its bustling quayside, shops and restaurants is a short drive away as is the pretty market own of Kingsbridge at the head of the Salcombe estuary.

Accommodation:  Approached from the parking area, door to sunny conservatory furnished with wicker chairs. Step up to anteroom with additional seating.  Glazed French doors lead to sitting room with cast iron fireplace, sofa, armchairs and flat screen TV with DVD.  Door to tiled dining room with table and seating for 8 and original Aga (not in use).  Archway to shaker style kitchen with halogen hob, electric oven under, integrated fridge, dishwasher and microwave.  Larder cupboard.  Utility/cloakroom with WC, butler sink and washer/dryer. Steep but wide stairs down to children's room/occasional bedroom with a 3ft bed and scatter cushions, bean bags and a TV with DVD.  First floor with double aspect master bedroom overlooking the garden and countryside, furnished with 5ft bed, fitted wardrobes and archway to dressing room/cot room with privacy curtain.  Double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers.  Twin bedroom with two 3ft beds and chest of drawers. Exotic family bathroom with roll top bath, separate shower cubicle with electric shower, hand basin and WC. Separate WC.

Outside:  Directly in front of the conservatory a sheltered south west facing paved area with garden table and chairs and an enclosed area of lawn.  The remainder of the large established landscaped garden extends away from the house with several seating areas and expanses of lawn with lovely views of the village.

Included: Bed linen, towels, (guests must provide their own beach towels), electricity and heating, travel cot and high chair by arrangement. Complimentary basket of logs when applicable.
Heating: Oil fired central heating and open fire.
Pets: One well behaved dog welcome.  Pet charge £25.00 per week.
No telephone, mobile reception variable to good, depending on network.
WiFi available.
No Smoking.
Parking
for up to 3 cars on gated driveway.
Beach and National Nature Reserve ½ mile.  Blackpool sands 3 miles. Other South Coast beaches e.g. South Sands, Smalls and Sunny Cove at East Portlemouth easily accessible by car.
Pub, post office/village store 50 yards
Kingsbridge or Dartmouth with all facilities 8 miles.
