This attractive stone cottage is situated on the edge of the delightful little village of Churchinford in the heart of the Blackdown Hills. It is set on one side of the courtyard of Ford Farm, an immaculate small holding with just a handful of the relatively rare and charming little Dexter cows, unusual Shetland sheep, along with a fine collection of free-range geese, ducks and chickens. This is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty , and rightly so, being a tranquil, beautiful and relatively isolated landscape on the Devon Somerset border.
The nearby lakes of the Otterford Estate are a popular place for walkers, particularly for their rich flora and fauna and for the historical remains of the house and also the Victorian garden. At the farm shop and restaurant, not only can you find quality food but also Red Deer, highland cattle and even Bison, however we do not know if these lovely creatures are actually on the menu! A yearly weekend fixture, held in August, which is always great fun, is the Churchinford beer and music festival.
