Highdown, a traditional, detached 1930's seaside bungalow is superbly located in a quiet cul de sac on an elevated and sunny position in the popular seaside resort of Bigbury on Sea in South Devon, overlooking Burgh Island. This popular, dog friendly property offers versatile accommodation, basic in nature yet comfortable, practical  and in an excellent location with sea views from most rooms, a southerly aspect and easy access to the beach which is only minutes away. A light and airy conservatory provides an ideal dining area whilst appreciating the views or watching the sunset. From the large secluded garden, an easy two minutes' walk takes you down one of the best beaches in the South Hams, with miles of sand suitable for families of all ages and access across the sandbar to Burgh Island with its romantic 14th Century Pilchard Inn. The nearby beach at Bantham, accessible by ferry in the high season, is a haven for surfers and wind surfers alike and from here the very popular Sloop Inn is only a couple of minutes walk away, as well as access to miles of stunning coastal walks. 

Accommodation: Glazed side door into the conservatory/diner, equipped with pine table and chairs for 6 people with good views over the front garden to the sea. Rush blinds on the windows can be lowered to reduce the effects of the sun. A further glazed door opens into the comfortable sitting room, fully carpeted with 2 sofas and 2 chairs, open fireplace, LCD TV with Freeview, iPod speakers, PVR, DVD and CD player. At the rear of the property the kitchen/diner, with shaker style units and marble effect surfaces is equipped with an electric cooker with oven and grill, microwave, fridge with icebox, washing machine and dining table to seat 6. A fridge/freezer is situated in the rear lobby with space for boots, coats and outdoor gear. The bedrooms all have stripped pine floors and enjoy sea views. Twin bedroom, with two 3ft beds, cupboard and French door leading onto the garden. A double bedroom is located at the front of the property, with 4ft 6in bed and fitted cupboard. The second twin bedroom has 3ft beds. The family bathroom has a white suite comprising bath with shower over, basin, WC and stripped pine flooring.

Outside: The narrow driveway with parking for up to 3 cars leads to steps up to the sun terrace supplied with garden furniture, an ideal spot for al fresco dining or a summer barbecue, whilst enjoying the views across Bigbury Bay. The remainder of the enclosed garden is laid to lawn with a sheltered Gazebo, equipped with table and chairs. Outside WC. At the rear of the house is a wooden chalet, ideal as a hideaway for active children or reclusive teenagers. This is equipped with games, toys, drawing materials, a table and chairs as well as a tumble dryer.

Included: Bed linen, hand towels (please bring bath towels and beach towels), and initial supply of logs and coal.
No cot or high chair.
Electricity and heating (night storage) by meter charge, honesty box supplied.
Security Deposit £150  
Pets: Unfortunately no large/long haired dogs. Dog basket, towels and bowls supplied. Pet charge £25 per pet per week.
