Higher Rose CottageLoddiswellSelf catering holiday cottageSouth Devon |
Higher Rose Cottage is a charming south facing cottage, furnished personally as a home in a tranquil part of the ancient Loddiswell village which is within an area of outstanding natural beauty. It has an open fireplace which makes it a cosy winter retreat, a good selection of local interest books plus novels, all contributing to create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere in which to relax any time of the year. Nearby Kingsbridge offers a wide choice of shopping facilities with a good range of specialist shops and supermarkets on the outskirts of the town. The village has a friendly Inn, Post Office & general store and a 14th century Church all within easy walking distance. Loddiswell is surrounded by unspoilt rolling countryside with several interesting walks, one of the most notable being along the old Great Western Railway's Primrose line following the river Avon, closed in 1963. A license can be obtained for fishing from the Post Office. The village is also within easy reach of the beautiful coastline, beaches and estuaries of the South Hams and Dartmoor National Park is only a 25 minutes drive away. There is also a source of refreshing natural spring water available for public use close to the property.
