This really is a fantastic retreat, a comfortable and spacious wing of the owner's traditional 17th century farmhouse situated down a secluded country lane and with its own indoor heated swimming pool (heated all year round) and Jacuzzi. Set in 5 acres with woodland and surrounded by beautiful countryside there is nothing here to disturb you but the sighing of the wind in the trees and the whole area is alive with wildlife, so regular sightings of barn owls, rare British birds and roe deer are not unusual. You probably won't want to move from this idyllic spot, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice with the spectacular North Cornwall coastline and its amazing beaches just a few miles away. Here you can enjoy fantastic surfing, walk coastal paths along some of the highest cliffs in the UK, which lead to hidden fishing villages, whilst inland it would be a shame not to visit the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. The owners have provided a play area for young children with swings, climbing frame, slide and a playhouse and a welcoming cream tea and a basket of home produced eggs await you on arrival. The cottage is not only cosy and warm but tastefully and comfortably furnished, making it an ideal all year round destination and on the odd rainy day, well there's always that pool.

Accommodation:
French doors to comfortable living room with oak flooring, roof beams and picture window overlooking the pool. Lounge area furnished with two sofas and antique occasional chair, woodburner effect electric fire, TV with Freeview, DVD and radio/CD with books and games for the children. Dining area with pine table, 4 chairs and pine dresser. Door to well equipped galley kitchen with electric cooker, small fridge (guests have their own fridge/freezer in an outside barn) and microwave. Door to swimming pool room with adjoining utility room with washing machine, (tumble dryer in the outside barn). Steps from lounge up to landing. Pretty double bedroom, tastefully furnished with Victorian cast iron bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers with window overlooking the garden. Adjoining family bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, hand basin, WC and shaver point. Bunk bedroom with two 3ft bunk beds, tall boy with hanging space and drawers. (Additional quality Z bed for child/adult).  

Indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Pool 28ft x 12ft, 4ft deep, open 9am to 8pm. (The owners greatly respect the privacy of their guests and would only use the pool whilst guests are out for the day).

Outside: Patio doors open onto a totally private patio area with garden furniture, chairs and sunshade in a fully enclosed garden.  Guests are welcome to wander the grounds and woodland and use the play area. They are also
welcome to feed the chickens, groom the horses, walk the dogs and entertain the cats!

Included: Bed linen, towels, (guests must provide their own pool and beach towels), cot, high chair, stair gate and summer electricity.
Heating: Oil fired central heating with electric stove effect fan heater in lounge.  Winter heating supplement from end September to Spring Bank Holiday £25.00 per week.
Pets: two well behaved dogs welcome (must get on with other dogs and animals). Pet charge £25.00 per pet per week. 
Parking for two cars on shared driveway.

Beaches: Bude 8 miles, Widemouth Bay 7 miles.  Northcott Mouth, Sandy Mouth, Duckpool and Millook Haven all about 10 miles.
