Kachelo

Kachelo

Ringmore

Self catering holiday cottage

South Devon

Kachelo, an African word meaning "Sunrise", is an imaginatively converted and spacious barn conversion on an exclusive development, located near the sea in the shadow of a Norman church with some lovely country and sea views from its south facing garden and patios. A huge living space with vaulted ceilings provides a comfortable area in which to relax on two levels and large French doors on both sides open to patio areas, ideal for that early morning coffee or al fresco dining as you watch the sun sink into the sea. The house has well proportioned bedrooms, two with en-suites and one in a charming galleried area overlooking the lounge. Ringmore is a lovely village, full of charm and character, within easy walking distance of the sea and the South West Coast Path that meanders along the cliffs nearby. The rarely busy Ayrmer Cove is a ten minute walk over National Trust footpaths, whilst the family friendly Challaborough beach and the golden sands of Bigbury on Sea, renowned for its surfing and windsurfing, can be reached down the lane on foot or by car. From here the old smugglers haunt, the Pilchard Inn and the art deco Burgh Island hotel are accessible on foot at low tide or on the sea tractor at high tide. The village itself has a wonderful 13th century pub, which often hosts live music and provides fine food and ale. The South Hams is renowned for its beauty and Kachelo is an ideal base from which to explore the coast, the moors and the many other attractions on offer in this lovely part of Devon.

Accommodation: From the parking area, a stable door into the well equipped kitchen with range cooker with two ovens, grill and griddle, dishwasher and microwave. Adjacent utility room with sink, washing machine, condenser tumble dryer, large fridge/freezer and smaller separate freezer. Steps lead down to the open plan living room, with a dining area overlooking the lounge. This area has a large table and chairs to seat 6/7 as well as a smaller table and chairs for 4 people. Further steps down to the lounge area which has two 3 seater sofas, a 2 seater sofa and several armchairs as well as a decorative feature fireplace. Large flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and radio/CD player. To one side of the chimney breast, steps lead up to the galleried twin bedroom, with a privacy screen, two 3ft single beds and wonderful views over the village to the sea. Steps lead down to a lower double bedroom with 4ft 6in bed and plenty of storage and hanging space. Adjoining this room, but also accessible by another door from the living area is a family/en-suite bathroom with corner bath, handheld shower, hand basin, WC and shaver point. Large master bedroom with sea views, a 5ft bed, standard cot and large wardrobe. En-suite bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, hand basin, WC and shaver point.
