Kilhellan House

Kilhellan House

Chacewater

Self catering holiday cottage

Cornwall

Go West and get away from it all! Kilhellan House, a much loved family home, is set deep in the heart of Cornwall within five acres of beautiful grounds that include a superb outdoor heated swimming pool. Close to the fine city of Truro and the beautiful sand dunes and beaches of Perranporth and St Agnes , this stunning detached house is very much a period piece of old fashioned charm, decorative, brimming with books, paintings, handsome fabrics and drapes, good quality antiques and includes plenty of gracious and homely touches.
This is an outstanding place to be in summer as the spacious grounds consist of wide lawns, perfect for croquet, cricket, picnics and camping, a large pond (children need to take care), provided with a rowing boat, a stream and all bordered by extensive fields. Warm and cosy in winter, this is a particularly special spot for Christmas and New Year.
A welcome home-made Cornish cream tea is provided on arrival!

Accommodation: Front door into porch with coat hooks. Brick arch into attractive kitchen with four oven Aga with twin hobs, 2 plate warmers, an electric cooker with ceramic hob and double ovens, microwave, TV, dishwasher and farmhouse table to seat 10. A walk in larder has a large fridge freezer and there is a downstairs WC with basin. Rear door to the gardens. An outside utility room houses washing machine, drying lines, chest freezer, logs and coal. The kitchen extends on into a delightful dining room with two dining tables to seat up to 11, fine furniture and plate warmer. Door into sitting room , a handsome room with open fireplace, a large sofa, chaise longue and plenty of chairs. Small snug sitting room with sofa and chair and large flat screen TV with DVD and video .
Stairs to landing. Master bedroom with large en-suite bathroom with bath, shower over, twin basins in vanity unit and bidet. Arch into the bedroom with a 6ft 6in zip linked double bed, fitted cupboards, TV and double aspect windows. Twin bedroom with 3ft beds (these can be zip linked to form a double), further single 3ft bed, wash hand basin and fitted cupboards. Two steps down from landing to double bedroom with sloping ceiling and 4ft 6in bed. From here, low door to family bathroom. This is rather dated with an avocado suite with large corner bath with shower over, twin basins in vanity unit and WC. Door to small, basic second kitchen/diner with table, electric cooker and fridge, useful as a children's playroom. Fourth bedroom, with 4ft 6in double bed, TV, fitted cupboard and double aspect windows. Off the secondary kitchen is a small vestibule and stairs down to the gardens

Outside: A long narrow driveway leads up to the house and extends to a circular area which provides an ample parking and turning area. The partly flood lit grounds are extensive, as described above, and the heated outdoor swimming pool 30ft x 16ft (open from beginning of May to end September) is within a fenced area, has paved surrounds with tables, chairs, loungers and a changing room with drinks fridge, deep freeze and three barbecues.
