Manor Cottage is a wonderfully presented period home, part of the original Manor House built in the mid 1800's, which nestles in the shadow of St Georges church in the beautiful village of Dittisham on the Dart Estuary. Dittisham must be one of the prettiest waterside villages in Devon and has long been a mecca for those who enjoy sailing, boating and just generally messing about on the water. Surrounded by soft rolling hills the Dart estuary meanders down from the bohemian market town of Totnes at its head to the historic port of Dartmouth, with its proud naval traditions. Close to the cottage an area named The Ham allows access to the water, where boats owned by visitors can be launched. (Ask for details). Dittisham boasts two popular inns where you can enjoy a tipple whilst the kids indulge in the time honoured tradition of crabbing and a delightful family friendly waterside café serving good food. Manor Cottage, which has the distinct advantage of secure parking for up to 3 cars also has large reception rooms with high ceilings and two seating areas as well as a conservatory that looks out over the enclosed garden to the church and the surrounding hills. All in all, Manor Cottage provides a very comfortable base from which to enjoy and explore this wonderfully picturesque and unspoilt part of Devon.

Accommodation:
Front door to hallway, with plenty of room for sou'westers and wellies. Downstairs cloakroom with hand basin and WC. Kitchen/diner has a large electric range with 6 rings and double oven, built in fridge and separate freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, (tumble dryer in outhouse) and microwave. Extendable table with bench seat and chairs will sit 7. Enormous lounge with two seating areas. The first has a two seater sofa, two armchairs, coffee table, a couple of bean bags and a flat screen TV, DVD and Freeview. The second reading area faces a long window with window seat and has another sofa and two comfortable cane armchairs. Glazed folding doors lead out to the conservatory with table and chairs for relaxing with an early morning cup of coffee and then into garden. Upstairs a large family bathroom with bath (electric shower over), hand basin, WC, shaver point and heated towel rail. Single bedroom/kids video room with 3ft bed with lots of cushions, two bean bags and a TV for videos only. (There are plenty of videos to choose from). Twin room, with two 3' beds and plenty of wardrobe space. Double bedroom with wrought iron 4ft 6in bed, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. Large master bedroom with window seat overlooking the garden, 5ft double bed, dressing mirror, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. En-suite bathroom with bath (electric shower over), hand basin, WC heated towel rail and mirror with shaver point.

Outside: Doors from the patio lead into the large garden, mainly laid to lawn with borders planted with established shrubs and conifers. Patio area to side of conservatory with table, bench seating and barbecue. A canoe is available for use at own risk.
