If you are searching for a tasteful and beautifully presented cottage in the heart of a quintessential Devon village close to the sea we can't really think of a better example than Melody Cottage in Slapton. Tucked away down a quiet, flower lined lane that leads to the church and surrounded by other pretty cottages this delightful retreat has been renovated to the very highest standard and provides everything that the discerning guest could wish for. The owners have been at pains to retain original features such as the beams, wattle and lime plaster and furnished it throughout in a sympathetic and appropriate style. A luxuriously appointed oak floored lounge with woodburner adjoins a modern kitchen and downstairs wet room and stairs lead up to 3 sumptuous bedrooms and bathroom. There is also a small rear courtyard and front of garage parking. Slapton village has  two excellent pubs, a village shop and is only a short walk from Slapton Sands, a three mile stretch of shingle beach that divides the sea from a fresh water Ley and Nature Reserve. There are great coastal walks to enjoy, plenty of sandy beaches and historic towns to visit as well as day trips to the Dartmoor National Park. This is a perfect cottage for families and couples alike all through the year and we know that you will be charmed when you stay there.

Accommodation: Steps up from lane to front door. Oak floored lounge with two leather sofas, a reading chair and occasional armchair, woodburner stove in fireplace and LCD TV with Sky +, DVD and iPod docking station. Modern kitchen/diner with limestone floor, oak units, Rangemaster cooker with 5 ring ceramic hob, grill, oven and warming oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer and microwave. Dining area with oak table and chairs. Washing machine and tumble dryer in utility cupboard. Downstairs wet room off kitchen with shower, hand basin and WC. Stairs to landing and two delightful double bedrooms , both with 4ft 6in double beds and period fitted wardrobes. Single bedroom with 3ft bed and wardrobe. Large family bathroom with bath, electric shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Outside: Small rear paved courtyard with bistro style table and chairs and flower pots.

Please Note: No children under 12, but babes in arms with own moses basket welcome.

Included: Bed linen, towels, (guests must provide their own beach towels) and  electricity. Complimentary basket of logs when applicable.
Heating: (modern electric convector radiators and woodburner stove). Winter heating supplement from end of September until Spring Bank Holiday £30.00 per week.
Telephone for incoming and outgoing 999 calls, mobile reception variable.
No Smoking.
Parking
in front of garage with additional parking available at end of lane and in the village.
Beach and National Nature Reserve half a mile.  Blackpool sands 3 miles. Other South Coast beaches e.g. South Sands, Smalls and Sunny Cove at East Portlemouth easily accessible by car.
Pub, post office/village store 250 yards
Kingsbridge or Dartmouth with all facilities both 8 miles.
