Tucked away down a quiet lane on the hill at the head of Batson Creek, close to the seaside and the beautiful Salcombe estuary and enjoying wonderful views is this imaginatively renovated, sumptuously furnished and spacious self catering cottage. The house was converted from a former farmhouse with a tasteful light and airy open plan living area with oak flooring that opens out to a large sunny patio and landscaped gardens surrounding the property. Further luxuries include a hot tub (available in high season only) and a wonderfully relaxing sauna. All this combines to provide a perfect environment in which to make you at feel at home and to relax and unwind. Further reception rooms enable guests' or noisy children to work, read or watch TV in peace and the beautifully appointed bedrooms ensure restful nights after the activities of the day. Salcombe and the surrounding district need little introduction and provides an ideal base for a holiday, with beautiful golden sandy beaches , a lively seaside town with excellent inns, restaurants and shops, coastal walks with amazing views and plenty of facilities catering for those who want to mess about on the water. We could go on, but take it from us that Perrotts is a special holiday destination that once experienced is sure to entice you back.
Accommodation: From the driveway, large patio doors open into an open plan, vaulted lounge and dining area , with long windows flooding the room with light. A striking feature fireplace with a gas fuelled stove provides warmth for those chilly nights, with three sofas providing plenty of seating with a large flat screen TV, VHS and DVD with cinema system providing entertainment. The dining area has an oak dining table and chairs that seat 10 and further patio doors give access to the large paved terrace. The adjoining kitchen is very well equipped with a range cooker with 7 gas burners and two ovens, a dishwasher, microwave and large American style fridge freezer with ice dispenser. A spiral staircase winds up to a flag stoned lobby, off which there is a utility room with washer dryer and sink leading through to a sumptuous family bathroom with bath and hand held shower, hand basin and WC. From the lobby a door opens into the original hallway and front door, off which is the second lounge/TV room with 2 sofas, a feature open fire and flat screen TV and DVD . On the other side of the hall is the study/occasional bedroom , with sofa bed, feature fireplace and desk. Stairs lead up to the landing with on one side a large double bedroom overlooking the front garden with king size bed. Another
double bedroom with king size bed and views over the garden and countryside has an en suite shower room with hand basin and WC. A large family shower room separates the two bedrooms and has a shower, hand basin and WC. At the rear of the house are two further bedrooms. One is a large double bedroom with another king size bed, views over the surrounding hills and an en suite shower room with hand basin and WC. Finally, there is a cosy twin bedroom with two 3' single beds and a hand basin.
Outside: A sunny paved patio with steps down to an al fresco dining area , furnished with wonderful driftwood table and bench seating. Barbecue area, hot tub (available in high season only) and entrance to sauna room. Steps or path lead up to the front garden and extensive lawns surround the house, with established trees, shrubs and planted borders as well as lovely views of the surrounding hills and countryside.
