Stokenham Corn MillFrogmoreSelf catering holiday cottageSouth Devon |
This beautiful, old, former corn mill which has been cleverly, innovatively and sympathetically converted by its architect owner into a most unusual, spacious family home, stands in a quiet and rural situation alongside a small stream that runs into the estuary at Frogmore just a few hundred yards away. There are very restful, unspoilt views over the surrounding undulating countryside and the property is filled with rustic charm from the enormous "mill wheel" window to the roped, galleried landing. In the garden, the mill stream which used to power the mill wheel runs alongside the house through a series of small pools and waterfalls and then joins the main stream.
Accommodation:
Entrance into small lobby area with downstairs cloakroom with WC, basin and washing machine . Kitchen with electric cooker with ceramic hob and double oven, dishwasher, fridge and microwave (further fridge/freezer and tumble dryer in garden shed). Hall/snug with comfortable chairs and settee. Interesting door into garden with ?drawbridge? over mill stream. Stone spiral staircase to first and second floors. Gothic shaped door into dining room with dining table for 8 and open fire. Door and steps up to the living room (converted from the main working mill room) with comfortable suite, large woodburning stove, piano, radio/CD player TV/DVD player and large feature door/window designed to replicate the original mill wheel.
