The Crib is a delightful farmhouse and perfect holiday home nestled at the top of a gentle valley that meanders down through woodland to the golden sandy beach at Millbay.  This imposing farmhouse was built in the late Georgian period and now offers the visitor spacious and comfortable accommodation in a lovely rural setting.  Rickham is a quiet sleepy hamlet, but a short drive or walk brings you to East Portlemouth and a passenger ferry link to the bustling seaside town of Salcombe.  The farmhouse is surrounded with pastureland and has a wonderful south west facing terrace, a perfect spot for relaxing in the sun and al fresco dining.  There is a large living room with woodburner and a stylish kitchen diner where the family can congregate for meals and have the inevitable arguments about what to do tomorrow.  The South West Coastal Path passes a few yards from the door allowing those who love walking some spectacular coastal views and for the energetic you can continue on to East Prawle and enjoy some local fare at the famous Pigs Nose pub. South Devon has masses to do, be it surfing at Bantham, a variety of water sports, a round on one of several golf courses, visiting some of the lovely market towns or spending a day on Dartmoor and The Crib makes a wonderful base for enjoying a great holiday in this lovely area.

Accommodation: Front door to hall.  Large comfortable living room with woodburner stove in feature fireplace, two sofas and colonial cane armchairs, flat screen TV with DVD and Freeview. Impressive pine floored kitchen diner with dining table and seating for 8 and a Shaker style kitchen, equipped with an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave.  Off hall a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and a freezer.  Cloakroom adjacent to utility, rear lobby with door to rear yard and garden.  Stairs to landing and double bedroom with 5ft bed, chaise longue, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers.  En suite bathroom with bath, shower over, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.  Bunk bedroom with two 3ft bunk beds.  Twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers and hand basin.  Second twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, chest of drawers and hand basin.  Large family bathroom with bath, hand held shower, shower cubicle, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Outside
:  A large area of lawn surrounds the farmhouse.  Sunny terrace equipped with garden table and chairs overlooks the lawn and down the valley.  Charcoal barbecue.  Large parking area in front of property.

Please note that there is a rear wing to the farmhouse that is not available to guests, but will not be used when guests are in residence.

Included: Bed linen, towels, (guests must provide their own beach towels) and electricity.
Oil fired central heating.  Winter heating supplement end of September until Spring Bank holiday £25.00 per week.
Pets: One medium sized, well behaved dog welcome, must be confined to downstairs and not on furniture.  Pet charge £25.00 per week.
Telephone for incoming calls and outgoing local and emergency 999 calls only.  Mobile reception mixed.  WiFi available.
No smoking.
Parking
for up to three cars and a boat trailer.
Beaches: Gara beach and Millbay beach 10 minutes drive, 1.75 miles
Local shop and pub at East Prawle 3 miles. Cafe at East Portlemouth ferry steps and passenger ferry to Salcombe.
Garage supermarket West Charleton 6 miles.
Kingsbridge with all facilities 8 miles.
