The Yealm estuary that divides the pretty waterside villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo is exceedingly picturesque and The Penthouse is ideally placed to take advantage of these wonderful views. Situated on the creek side, above an area of the estuary known locally as 'The Pool', most rooms in this modern and comfortable house overlook the water and a sunny balcony running the width of the property is an ideal spot on which to relax, observing the comings and goings of this popular yachting haven or enjoying a pre dinner aperitif on the lower terrace, watching the sun go down. The villages have a real sense of community, with friendly but competitive rivalry between them, especially during the popular summer regatta. Tides permitting, the local water taxi shuttles between the two shores as well as offering boat trips, and being in an area of outstanding natural beauty, visitors would be missing out if they didn't use the South West Coastal Path that follows the cliffs, giving access to numerous small coves and beaches. There are several excellent inns and restaurants within easy walking distance and the many attractions of this popular area are readily accessible, although given all that this fantastic holiday destination has to offer, we're certain you'll not be straying too far.


Accommodation:
From the road, 4 steps down to the front porch. Stairs lead down to the middle floor to a wonderfully spacious living room with French doors that open to the deck balcony with superb views both up and down the estuary. This room, with wood laminate floor, is very comfortably furnished with two large sofas, 2 leather armchairs, electric flame effect fire, Freeview Satellite TV with DVD, books, games and radio/CD player. Step up to the kitchen/dining area, beautifully fitted and equipped with a five ring gas hob, double ovens, extractor hood, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer and dining table to seat 8. Door to downstairs cloakroom with basin and WC. Utility cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer. Further stairs lead down to the paved terrace. On the top floor are the bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has twin 3ft zip linked beds (provided with either single duvets or a double), pine furniture, TV with video and the floor to ceiling glazed windows provide stunning views.
En-suite shower room with shower, basin and WC. Bedroom 2, a double room with 5ft bed, fitted cupboards and great views. Bedroom 3, a twin bedroom with 3ft beds and fitted cupboards. Bedroom 4, a double bedroom with 5ft bed and hand basin. Family bathroom with bath, electric shower over, basin and WC.

Outside: Deck balcony off the living room with suberb views. Paved terrace on the estuary side of the property is provided with table, chairs and barbecue and also has superb views up and down the estuary. From here further steps lead down to a gateway that opens to the river footpath that leads to the village in one direction and the quay the other.

Included: Bed linen (not towels - except for overseas visitors - guests please supply their own), travel cot, high chair, 2 stair gates, electricity and central heating (gas).
