This year, take a trip to the heart of Exeter and discover the market that’s full of Christmas spirit.
Defying the destruction caused by the recent, devastating fire in the heart of the historic city, the annual festive markets will be going ahead as usual in true, stiff-upper-lip style.
Exeter’s Christmas Market is one of the finest in Europe, attracting traders and tourists from both home and abroad.
Set up on The Cathedral Green – the heart of the city – the market is a hive of festive activity; stalls packed with sweet and savory treats, gifts and trinkets, wonderful decorations, and masses of Christmas goodies. This international event works in tandem with local traders, and this year it promises to be one of the best ever.
Prepare to be tempted at every turn; the gorgeous scent of mulled wine and the aroma of chocolate roasted chestnuts, the sound of sizzling bison burgers, the jingle bells and the joyous carols. Marvel at the Christmas lights as you seek out that perfect gift, with row upon row of delicious and sumptuous treats to choose from.
The Exeter Christmas Market is a celebration of the very best the West Country has to offer, and all within this special meeting place, beneath the magnificent gables of Exeter Cathedral.
This year’s Christmas Market will run from Saturday 19th November until Sunday 18th December. Expect a warm and friendly welcome. Christmas jumpers are encouraged.
From 19 November until 18 December:
