BBC’s ‘The Coroner’ filmed in South Devon

BBC1’s The Coroner arrived on our screens this week, muscling its way into the daytime scheduling much like one of our guests squeezing between the regulars at the local pub. Quiz shows to the left and relocation programmes to the right, the new detective series stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the mainstays and commands attention – if only for scenery.

Filmed extensively in our own backyard, the show about solicitor, Jane Kennedy, who has returned to her childhood home airs daily for the next two weeks. Showcasing a rich array of the regions finest coastline, usually the only blot on the landscape is a dead body or two and so begins each episode. From Jane’s family home in Hope Cove, to meetings in Dartmouth, teenage angst on Blackpool Sands and a morning surf at Bantham, in just two episodes the series has already revealed why South Devon is one of our most popular destinations.

Several Toad Hall properties have already featured in The Coroner with more to come over the next 8 days. So, be sure to tune in to BBC1 daily at 2:15pm, or catch up on BBC iPlayer,to get you in the mood for your next holiday.
