Mr Toad’s Grand Annual Easter Egg Hunt

To bring a sprinkling of light relief during these unsettling times, Mr Toad has been out roaming the West Country with his Easter basket and scattering chocolate eggs around some of the region’s most beautiful and captivating locations.

Your challenge is to find his hidden eggs and keep a running tally to be in with a chance of winning our Easter prize.

Let’s get cracking…

First, we head to the tranquil glades, sun-dappled paths and vast open heathlands of the New Forest. Mr Toad has dropped off some specially decorated eggs and tucked them away amongst the branches and the briers. Keep your eyes peeled and see if you can spot them.

Next, we’re ocean-bound, headed for the majestic cliffs and sweeping beaches of the Jurassic Coast. Every year fossil finders scour these precious shores in search of relics from our prehistoric past, but today we’re on the hunt for some curiosities of the oval variety. Better find them quickly before they melt into the sea.

How are you faring? All set for the next chapter of Mr Toad’s egg-ceptional adventure? We’re whisking you away to the bustling estuary waters of Salcombe in South Devon, filled with fishing boats, ferries and brightly coloured sailing dinghies. It’s among these turquoise waters that you’ll find our next batch of Easter eggs.

It’s time for the penultimate leg for our egg-traordinary eggs-pedition. Get your hiking boots on because we’re venturing forth to the heather-bound wilds of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, a roaming expanse peppered by ancient sites and lofty tors. Mr Toad was up bright and early camouflaging his eggs so they might sneakily blend into the crags of Brown Willy, the highest point in the whole of Cornwall.

Is your basket looking full? It’s time to explore our final setting. We’ve picked up the Atlantic road destined for Cornwall’s spectacular coast, and a headland characterised by the cliff-perched ruins of a tin mine’s engine house and towering chimney. You’ll have to rove around the sea thrift, gorse and long grass to see if you can unearth Mr Toad’s craftily hidden eggs. That excited shrill from the kittiwakes means you’ve nearly completed this egg-cellent adventure.

Once you’ve confirmed your final count come and share it with us of Facebook to be in with a chance of winning a chocolate hamper from Devon-based Willie’s Cacao.

Good luck and thanks for joining in with my Easter fun.

Stay safe and look after each other.
