NEW! Family-friendly holidays in North Devon

North Devon offers an abundance of rugged beauty and stunning countryside to explore. Dramatic coastlines and wild moorland present visitors with boundless opportunities to get back to nature and make it a great place for a family holiday. Sandy beaches and pretty coastal villages make for perfect days out while award-winning attraction ‘The Big Sheep’ is a great place to wear out energetic youngsters.

Close to all of the action, the historic town of Bideford provides an excellent base for exploring the region, and beautiful Mariners House is just the property from which to do so. Refurbished to a fantastic level, the stylish Victorian villa offers luxurious living in the heart of the town. The large rear garden, which includes a hot-tub and detached games room, will keep all of the family entertained while, inside, the stately dining room and beautiful living spaces are perfect for all occasions.

The grand staircase leads to five characterful bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master room with its four-poster bed and chaise longue exudes luxury, while each of the other rooms, including two twins, has been finished with comfort and style in mind.

Bideford itself is a bustling maritime town and home to it’s famous pannier market. Dating back to 1884, the 1000 square metre Market Hall is packed with stalls from Tuesday through to Saturday, with ‘Butchers’ Row‘ open for business on Monday’s too. There are permanent shops and a cafe too, making it a great destination for rainy days or the morning shop.

North Devon is renowned for its sweeping, sandy beaches and nearby Westward Ho! (only 3 miles away) is a fine example with plenty of space and great surf for those looking to get in the water. Also nearby, the pretty village of Instow has a beach that is perfect for children, with room to play and good facilities. Further afield but still easily accessed, the renowned beaches at Saunton Sands, Croyde and Puttsborough all make for brilliant outings whatever the season.

With so much to see and do, Mariners House certainly offers the perfect combination of great location and wonderful accommodation and we’re sure you’ll love it too. Up to 10 guests can stay in the 5 bedrooms and dogs are also welcome. The house also has WiFi, an open fire, downstairs loo and parking. For full details and lots more photos, visit:
