Meteorologists are all agreed that the UK is going to experience an ‘above average’ climate for the coming months, with an 80 to 100 percent chance of it being ‘unseasonably warm’ and temperatures rising to at least two degrees higher than the norm. In fact, long-range forecasts are predicting a bout of balmy weather that could linger well into November, with the West Country set to bask in the glorious thrust of it.

Met Office forecasters have pinpointed a north moving jet stream that is likely to encourage warmer air from southern Europe to sweep in from the south-west, bringing milder conditions across the whole of the UK, and Celsius temperatures in the mid to high 20s.

A ridge of high pressure (or heatwave plume) is expected to envelope the south-west in the coming days, making the prospect of an autumn West Country getaway even more tempting.
