Alan’s Apple

A well-known greengrocer found halfway up Kingsbridge Fore Street, Alan’s Apple is offering free deliveries within a ten mile radius. Aune Valley

Tucked away in the heart of the South Hams, between the hilltop village of Loddiswell and the bustling market town of Kingsbridge, Aune Valley continues to supply local communities with award-winning produce. This family-run business runs two shops while also keeping apace with its doorstep delivery service. A Taste of the West gold award winner, Aune Valley online shop has a butchery, delicatessen, farm shop, fruit and veg counter and pantry. Catch of the Day

A Taste of the West Gold Award winner, Catch of the Day is a local smoke house and fish monger with a longstanding history. Found at the top of Kingsbridge’s historic Fore Street, the shop stocks locally caught fish, prawns, crab and lobsters and also runs a postal order and gift box service, such is its popularity. Challon’s Combe Organics

The lush, green meadows of Aveton Gifford parish is the setting for Challon’s Combe. Following their ‘natural is best’ ethos, this family-run dairy farm has been producing organic milk, yoghurt and cream for the past twenty years and supplies a long list of local retailers. The delivery van has been doing the rounds in Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Aveton Gifford, Kingston, Bigbury and Ringmore, and continues to receive glowing reviews.

Cormacks Seafood

This Totnes-based fishmongers specialises in sustainable seafood, all caught on small boats using selective fishing methods from local waters around Devon and Cornwall. Cranch’s Pantry

This well-stocked green grocers and general stores has been busy delivering its fayre to doorsteps both in and around its hometown of Salcombe. Jolly Farm

Jolly Farm lies in the meadows and lowlands of Halwell, near the attractive market town of Totnes. This small, family-run farmstead has a growing flock of Lleyn ewes and also rears and grazes cattle, and pigs on fields in Dartmoor, Slapton and Dartington. Jolly Farm is supported by the community, which means people are encouraged to get hands on with the growing of their lamb, pork and beef and be part of the nurturing process. The farm offers free local delivery, fresh when in season and frozen during winter.
