Description

West Hartley Barns are nestled just outside the village of Blackawton in the beautiful South Hams. Surrounded by rolling countryside, Karibuni (Number 5) has been finished to a very high standard and provides charming accommodation for up to 6 people. It has been completed with stylish furnishings and characterful features which make this barn conversion really special. The reverse level layout features a fabulous open plan kitchen diner and a cosy lounge with comfortable sofas and a gas effect fire. Three spacious bedrooms and two well-appointed bathrooms complete downstairs and contribute to the sophisticated home from home feeling. 

Just a short walk down the valley is the friendly village of Blackawton which is home to a locally renowned pub, a village shop and children’s playground. There is plenty of good coastal and countryside walking nearby and Blackawton is perfectly located for easy access to Dartmouth and just a few minutes’ drive from the family favourite of Woodlands Leisure Park. The beautiful beaches of Slapton and Blackpool Sands are just a short drive away too.   

Entrance hall to large kitchen diner with 4 ring, hotplate and 2 oven range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, table to seat 6 and leather sofa. Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Cloakroom with WC. Lounge with two sofas, beanbags, gas effect log burner, TV and DVD player. Stairs to ground floor. Master bedroom with king-size bed and en suite with shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail. Bedroom 2 with twin beds(3ft). Bedroom 3 with double bed (4ft 6in) and door to communal court yard. Family bathroom with bath and shower over, WC, basin and heated towel rail.  

Large enclosed laid to lawn garden and patio with table and chairs. Communal courtyard and surrounded by 7 acres of communal grounds.

Enjoyed the stay. Sam the caretaker was very prompt in dropping off some recycling bags when I let her know that we only had one type of bag. I did have to text her to let her know we were having problems getting hot water. It was very hit & miss which did spoil things for us somewhat. Sam said she would contact the owners but that wasn't much help to us while we were there.

Wonderful stay in a fabulous property with amazing views across the valley. Friendly neighbours too! The property felt really spacious so we all had a bit of privacy - helpful when two families are sharing. Thank you for a special holiday.

We loved our stay! The barn was gorgeous, so homely and comfortable, with incredible views from the lounge and master bedroom. The outside space was also wonderful - we had so much space for our toddler to run around, and the views over the countryside were so beautiful. I was also impressed at the communication from the housekeeper, who was very welcoming and helpful. Thanks for a fantastic time!
