Spectacular, that’s the only way to accurately describe this newly built, eco friendly property. 59 Marine Drive perches on the cliffs above a sandy bay with the most amazing coastal views from the three balconies. The property itself is luxuriously appointed in a crisp, contemporary style with four bedrooms including two double bedrooms with private balconies, four bathrooms and a large living area with patio doors that open onto the lower sun deck. Here the superb location can be fully appreciated, especially when the trifold doors are opened bringing the sights and sounds of the sea into the room and each balcony provides a superb spot for relaxing in the sun, al fresco dining or watching the sun sink slowly into the sea. A nearby path leads to the beach below, and the house is also a short walk from the golden sands of Bigbury on Sea, which at low tide connect to Burgh Island and the popular Pilchard Inn. This whole area is a haven for lovers of water sports, with plenty of surfing, windsurfing, body boarding, kite surfing and kayaking in evidence.
Please Note: Owing to the number of stairs this property will be unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.
Please Note: This beautiful property offers a discount in low season weeks to groups of 4 or less - two sea-facing double bedrooms will be prepared unless advised otherwise.

Fantastic location, unrivalled - we love it We've been coming to the house for ages and we love it but it is starting to feel really tired. There seems to have been lots of cost cutting over the last year - nothing major but only one cheap and really flimsy bin bag, cheapest loo roll, handwash etc.... No welcome pack All of the kitchen pans needs to be binned they are pretty revolting now. Outside furniture is starting to fall apart Outside furniture needs a varnish Please just pop down and give an amazing property a little love.
Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay despite these points, which we have forwarded to the owner for rectification. There should have been a nice bottle of bubbly to welcome you on arrival, apologies if you didn't receive this, but look forward to welcoming you back in the future to this fabulous location.

Excellent all round. Just two observations, a shelf under the window on the long wall in the kitchen would be useful as the food and wine stored on the heated floor would not get warm. Hooks on the bathroom doors would also be useful.
Thank you for your comments and we'll discuss the matter with the owner.

Absolutely magnificent place! Lovely to stay in, astonishing views and nicely decorated! Only minor issues like no salt for dishwasher, no towels in one bedroom on arrival, couldn't find the iron, conflicting bin instructions (put it out on Monday morning as per instructions but it got emptied on Thursday morning! And it was collected from driveway) and some replacement bin liners. These are all REALLY minor issues, just trying to give a little bit of feedback on a place that we absolutely fell in love with and will definitely be returning to. Would highly recommend it and Toad Hall as a wider company off the back of this marvellous one-week holiday! Sarah, Matt, Henry, Bella and Percy Robinson, Notts
Thank you for your comments, we're thrilled that you enjoyed the house and delighted to hear that you had a great time. Thanks for letting us know about the salt for the dishwasher, we'll get that replaced, and the errant set of bin instructions will be removed. The house offers a reduced rate for smaller parties and as it was booked for 3 not all rooms were provided with towels, although 6 sets were provided to give a choice of bedrooms. We're really grateful for your feedback which really helps us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Toad Hall Cottages again.

We had a brilliant holiday thank you. The house and location were excellent but I would flag up the following items for future reference: - 1) the 3 stair gates provided for child safety were too narrow to fit securely across any of the stairs and too wide to fit in the bedroom doorways so were therefore unusable; 2) The instructions for dealing with rubbish / recycling (posted on the wall and in the property manual) need to be updated regarding colour / location of the bags / bins to be used; 3) Given that the house accommodates up to 8 adults we found that the cupboard space for food storage was somewhat inadequate and the fridge undersized - a little surprising given that the house has such a large kitchen area. 4) A few items of equipment geared towards younger children would have been appreciated eg plastic plates, cups, cutlery etc. Notwithstanding the above few items we would still give the property 5/5 and recommend to others (in fact we have already!).
Thank you for your comments and delighted you had a great holiday. We'll get the rubbish instructions reviewed and also check on the stair gates which we understood fitted. We accept that the fridge might be a little small for 8 people, but given that it's a fitted kitchen, it's not easy to change, but we'll pass your comments on to the owner and hope to see you back soon.

Perfect holiday location ! To become relax , out from the daily rush , enjoying the nature beauty ☺ï¸
This property is always a joy to return to. Like coming home in fact. We love it.
Fantastic property and location for self catering groups. Not ideal for those who want to eat out due to very limited availability locally.
We have just returned from an amazing break here with friends, the house is wonderful. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Stunning views from an exceptional property - first class all the way!
59 Marine Drive is an outstanding property, and Bigbury on sea is an absolute gem! The house is ideally suited to a family as there is lots of open space, and plenty of bathrooms to go round! The view from the balconies is fantastic, and you really don't need to go very far to relax!
