This modern luxury apartment must have one of the best views in Torcross from its wrap around sea facing balcony giving panoramic views of Start Bay. Comfortably furnished, the living room opens onto the balcony overlooking the beach and there are two good size double bedrooms and a family shower room.  But this apartment is all about being out on the balcony, enjoying al fresco dining, morning coffee or a relaxing glass of wine while you take in the views and listen to the sound of the sea on the shore. 8 At the Beach has everything families, friends or couples could want for their special seaside holiday.

Torcross is situated at the southern end of the glorious stretch of beach known as Slapton Sands. This buzzing village has the popular Start Bay Inn famous for its fish and chips, restaurant and a beautiful thatched tea toom serving delicious cream teas. Slapton Ley a freshwater lake also stretches up into the village offering a wealth of wildlife for the nature enthusiast to observe. The South West Coast Path is on the doorstep and leads over the cliff tops to the quaint fishing village of Beesands or saunter along the beach towards Slapton and Strete Gate. Access to the bustling market town of Kingsbridge and the distinguished town of Dartmouth is easy via car or bus as this coastal retreat is situated on the scenic coastal road leading to both.

Communal front door  up flight of stairs to first floor, front door leads into hallway. Kitchen/diner/living selection of wall and floor units, oven, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Dining table with seating for four. 3 seater corner sofa, patio doors leading to balcony. Feature electric fire. Bedroom 1: 4’6’’ double bed, patio doors to balcony. Bedroom 2: 2 x 3' twin beds and patio doors leading to balcony. Family shower room with good size shower cubicle, WC and basin. (Please note there is no washing machine in this property.)

Balcony reaches around this corner situated apartment on 2 sides. Table and chairs for 4.

Parking for one car approximately 25m from main building in allocated space on private car park.

Good pub and cafe on Torcross sea front. Farm shop in Stokenham 1 mile. Garage with good food and leisure shop, East Charleton 3 miles.  Kingsbridge with all facilities 6 miles. Dartmouth 8 miles.

We enjoyed our stay but the weather was against us, The start bay inn was really good the fish and chips to die for, we had a lovely waitress Called Alice she made us feel very welcome.

Disappointed that the chipped mugs in previous reviews are still there. Not difficult to replace mugs. Also, disappointed that only my positive comments have been placed on the website, come on, let people make their decisions based on honest reviews, it's an excellent property that needs a few tweaks.

Very sorry that we missed the chipped mugs. In the small changeover window we have each week it's easy to miss items like this, but we're on it now. Your other suggestions have been passed on to the owners for consideration, but we hope you still managed to enjoy your holiday.

We visited the sea breeze cafe, very dog friendly and superb food, same with the Boat House. The pub is not dog friendly inside which is disappointing as would have visiting again but too chilly to sit outside. Stokely Farm shop again very dog friendly and totally gorgeous breakfast. If you love seafood visit the Oyster Shack at Bigbury, amazing! Need to book and a little out of the way but worth it. Very dog friendly, they brought a soft blanket for our dog to lay on and they have a special doggy menu. We didn't sample that as our dog is gluten free but it's there if you want it. Lots of lovely walks around. Recommend the area. Disappointed the Britannia Inn still closed at Beesands, but it did lead is to finding the Oyster shack.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One recommendation, the mugs need replacing, a few have chips around the rim.

Great stay, the property communal areas are in need of maintenance. On our first floor landing there are two lights out at the top of the stairs. In May the same one was not working, now there is another next to it.

We had a fabulous holiday. We have been coming in a very large family group since 1981. This year there were twenty in our party. Thank you everyone at Toad Hall Cottages for bearing with me over the many requests and changing of occupants. I wish your company could take over as booking agents for the entire At The Beach complex. Will be in touch shortly re next year. Kind regards Judy Fielden.

Very enjoyable stay. The views from balcony were superb and made the holiday. Furnishings were of high quality but a shame that little additions as suggested above would have enhanced the apartment.
