Fairfield Cottage has glorious ocean views from the lawn and paddock area it shares with its partner property (Norwegian Lodge) and glimpses of the sea from the front bedrooms.  The property is a 10 minute walk down hill to the shops, restaurants and beach of Lyme Regis.  Built at the turn of the Century, the property was constructed to take advantage of the coastal views and features a new modern kitchen in 2022.  The panorama from the play paddock is truly magnificent and must be rated as one of the best coastal views in the county. This a great choice for a seaside holiday.

Lyme Regis itself is a truly fantastic place. Situated on the magnificent UNESCO Jurassic Coast, it's known as the pearl of Dorset and upon visiting, it's easy to see why. A famous spot for fossil hunters worldwide, it also sits on the South West Coast Path and offers a whole host of wonderful hikes and walks nearby.  The sheltered south-facing beaches are safe for both children and water sport enthusiasts, with great fishing and leisure boat opportunities available from the Cobb harbour. It has a fantastic food and music scene and is often used as a prime filming location.  There are also vast amounts of festivals and events happening in the town throughout the year. Some of the bigger ones include the jazz and folk festivals, Food Rocks, Regatta & Carnival Week, Guitars on The Beach, and Lifeboat Week which offers a week of fun, games, music and displays for all the family. Of course, there are also loads of smaller events happening as well!   The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, a short drive away provides a wealth of information about local geology, rock pooling and fossil collecting.

The picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, with its relaxed pace of life and genteel, old-world charm is a wonderful place to escape and unwind. Situated on the dramatic Jurassic Coast, on the border between Dorset and Devon, visitors to the town will appreciate the natural beauty of the setting nestled in rolling countryside, with miles of stunning coastal scenery right on their doorstep.

The town itself is famous for its iconic Cobb, a curving harbour wall dating back to the 13th century that is also a great spot for crabbing, fishing, or taking a boat trip to admire the magnificent views from the water. At the far end of the Cobb you’ll find the Lyme Regis Aquarium featuring a variety of local marine life, including crabs, seahorses and (at the time of writing) an 80-year-old lobster!

The Lyme Regis Museum is certainly worth a visit, and afterwards, why not use your new-found local knowledge to find a few fossils of your own along the ancient coast, or take part in a guided fossil walk to uncover some relics from the ancient cliffs around the town, which are continuously being eroded by the sea.

Lyme Regis is the perfect place to while away a pleasurable afternoon strolling through the historic 14th century old town which is brimming with characterful shops, tempting tea rooms and quirky galleries. Then enjoy a lively evening at the sea front theatre, or at one of many outstanding bars and restaurants serving locally caught fish and locally produced culinary treats.

If you fancy a beach day, the town's Cobb beach is popular with families, but there are several more beautiful beaches to discover nearby, including Charmouth beach, Chesil beach and Weymouth beach.

Meanwhile, for a family day out, there are several attractions within easy reach, including the Axe Valley Wildlife Park, Seaton Tramway and Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary, all of which are just over the border in East Devon.

A holiday cottage in Lyme Regis allows you to take full advantage of all this lovely seaside town has to offer, whilst being a great base to explore this beautiful corner of Dorset and East Devon.

Lyme Regis Brewery
(Less than a mile)

(22)

A visit to The Town Mill is not complete without relaxing in the lovely cobbled courtyard with a traditional real ale brewed in Lyme Regis’ only microbrewery, in part of what was once, aptly, the ancient Malthouse.  A range of five regular beers are brewed here all year round, plus some seasonal specials to try.  Sit and relax with a draught beer or cider or there are bottles to take away.

Five stars ......again ! It's great to return to a restaurant and find that everything is just as good as it was the last time you visited. Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, the owners, Ed and Giselle are always there to ensure that everything is as it should be and to greet you. The food is pretty good too ! Hopefully see you next year ! Deborah and Garth

October 2023

We absolutely loved the family-run strawberry Tree. The food is local & fresh and the cooking is outstanding - you can feel the love that goes into every dish. The staff were friendly & welcoming & service was perfectly timed. There's was a relaxing ambience. A gem.

September 2023

Great good and excellent service - we’ll be back again!

September 2023

This is a top class restaurant serving fine Spanish food at a reasonable price. Made to feel very welcome by very customer orientated staff who were smart and polite. Would strongly recommend there Paella. A must to visit.

September 2023

We were fortunate enough to dine twice here during our week's stay. Everything was just as good, if not better, as when we dined in March last year, shortly after the restaurant opened in the evenings. Ed, Giselle and all their "staff" are so welcoming, interesting and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. It's a unique dining experience, with high, good quality food which is beautifully cooked and presented. Just wished we lived nearer so we could go more often ! We have booked another stay in Lyme Regis this year so will be able to eat there again this year - wonderful !

June 2023

The Strawberry Tree has gained a great reputation and rightly so. The dishes are delicious and authentically modern Spanish. Nice decor and service and reasonably priced yet good wines. Definitely recommend - hasta la vista!

December 2022

Lovely food

June 2022

Great tapas restaurant, smart but rustic, friendly staff. The evening menu was a bit more extensive but still tapas. I recommend book ahead:

May 2022

Had a fantastic evening meal on the first night the Strawberry Tree re-opened after refurbishment. Excellent choice of food - good to have something a bit different. Staff were very good and it was nice to meet one of the owners who engaged with everyone. The other owner, the Chef, Gabrielle, emerged from the kitchen after the first sitting which was another nice touch. Food was delicious - do leave room for a dessert ........you won't be disappointed ! We liked the fact that a service charge wasn't automatically added and that if you wanted to leave a tip and were paying by card it gave you the option of leaving different percentages for service. All in all a really memorable and enjoyable evening out and a good way to celebrate our 19th Wedding Anniversary - we will return when next visit Lymme Regis. Deborah and Garth

April 2022

The staff were really friendly and the meal was excellent. A lovely atmosphere.

September 2021

Friendly, quick and very good food. Not a lot of choice and very protein heavy.

September 2021

A great place to have coffee and cake or a warming lunch. Great service and warm welcoming environment. Good value for money using fresh ingredients and cooking on the spot. Serving dishes for those with allergies such as gluten and dairy.

November 2019

We had a lovely coffee & the staff were very friendly.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon in September, and although we were served quickly, our coffee and cake took at least 15 minutes to arrive.

April 2022

Excellent and takeaway

March 2022

We walked past this in town and took a menu. The restaurant opened at 6om and we went to order at take away shortly after this time. There were a few people already in and the phoned constantly rang with people trying to book a table which they were doing their best to fit in. If you want to eat here I suggest you book in advance. Our take away took 35 minutes and was hot when we collected it. We ordered a mixture of dishes (5 of us) and I would say each portion was for two people. It was unfortunate that we did not realise that they missed two of our dishes out. In honesty I don't think they were quite geared up to takeaways as well as restaurant service but this could have been due to the strains and restrictions of covid. I would recommend the food and people in there seemed to be enjoying themselves.

August 2021

excellent take away meal

April 2021

Table at back by the door. Not brilliant. Service excellent. Lamb pass and a was nice except a few tough bits of meat. My husbands korma, however, was divine!

October 2020

Their COVID procedures leave something to be desired...tables close , no hand gel and worse of all no cleaning of hard backed menus before handing to next customers.....didn’t feel comfortable eating here

September 2020

Visited many times, usually find the takeaway better.

January 2020

Best Indian takeaway we have had, better than we get at home. Will definitely return when we are in Lyme Regis again.

October 2019

We ordered a takeaway which was of a generous size and very tasty. The restaurant is quite small so I would recommend you book a table as they were almost full by 6.30 pm

June 2019

We went as a family of 4 and had great service with excellent food.

April 2019

Always our first choice in Lyme Regis lovely food and service

August 2018

Reasonably priced and a good variety of dishes. My wife and I love Indian cuisine no La Quilla didn't disappoint.

July 2018

Enjoyed a superb meal in this Indian restaurant which my wife described as the best Indian she has ever eaten. I advise to book ahead as the place fills up quickly and as its a BYO the nearby Tesco and Coop are handy for alcohol purchases.

June 2018

Excellent food Lovely friendly staff Really busy at weekends so need to book

Good food and service but it was cold where we were sat as the outside door is permanently open as it's a fire door.

April 2024

Excellent lunch time meal for our family of 5 adults & 2 children. Food nicely presented & very tasty. Children's meals were of a good size. Service was good & the staff were very friendly. Wouldn't hesitate to return when we are next in the area.

October 2023

Absolutely superb. Great atmosphere and staff. Food is top quality

October 2023

Tried 2 beers from Palmer's and both were undrinkable. Did not stay long!

October 2023

Dog friendly pub with good food down at the centre of town.

April 2023

We ate in here quite a few times whilst we were staying in Lyme Regis for the week and the food was delicious and freshly prepared. Really good choice on the menu. We were allowed to sit in the bar with our dog but they did have proper tables and chairs. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

July 2022

Overpriced and poor menu. What a shame that an old traditional pub was pulled apart and ruined.

July 2022

Good food at fair price, nice relaxed atmosphere.

July 2022

Busy and many seemed to like it. Service was quick but we were early. It got busier and unless you had booked there were limited spaces. Food Ok but pricey. Good for big noisy families but not so cosy for couples.

June 2022

even better than expected !! Two excellent meals in very pleasant surroundings with excellent service

May 2022

We were a group of 4 adults and we ate evening meals here twice within a week in February; great service from friendly staff, cosy and warm, good food at good prices- definitely the best place we ate at in Lyme, hence our second visit.

March 2022

Good food but over the Christmas period, none of the staff wore Covid face masks and it felt very insecure

December 2021

We booked in advance (a week) as we knew it would be busy as summer and restrictions were easing. Our tale was for 5.30 and we arrived at 5.20 and sat down immediately. Table was clean and there was a nice separation between the tables. Majority of staff had masks on and from where I was seated I could see that they were regularly sanitising their hands. Food - Portions as a little off with starters being quite large. We had the catch of the day (Sea Bass) which was delicious but came with an enormous green leaf salad. The burger was delicious and portioned well. We had a delay between the starters and mains of nearly half hour but the atmosphere was relaxed and they checked in with us for drinks and apologising for the delay. When we left around 7pm the place was getting busier. So definitely book in advance. Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere, excellent covid measures and great location near the sea front.

August 2021

Great food and speedy service, good variety of choice and was a great way to end our holiday.

August 2021

Had a top-notch dinner here in the superbly refurbished pub, service was excellent, friendly and efficient even though Lyme Regis (and I assume much of the UK's service industry) was suffering a staffing shortage when we visited in early summer 2021.

July 2021

Excellent food choice for all the family

June 2021

Great pub, good menu choice, attentive service and quality food. What more could you want!

September 2020

Had a lovely cream tea here. Staff very nice and friendly. Would recommend .

July 2020

Excellent meal there, could not fault service. Top marks

March 2020

Visited twice in the week as a party of 10. Good service on both visits and some good meals but some only average. Considered the menu to be slightly overpriced. Worth a visit but not great.

July 2019

fab food. attentive staff. loved the decor and ambiance. we came here most days of our holiday.

June 2019

We dined here twice. The food was of a high standard, our waitress Charlotte, who served us both times was bubbly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, she even managed to find some blood orange sorbet on our second visit ( which we had had the first time as this was the flavour of the day and was to die for.) The Pilot Boat is right in the heart of the town and looks like a pub when you enter, but go further in and find their fabulous restaurant. Try the sorbet or ice-cream flavour of the day, you won't be disappointed. Starters and mains are excellent too.

July 2018

Nicely refurbished inside. Sun terrace has lovely view. Food not bad. Good with young kids. Went twice

June 2022

Most enjoyable visit

June 2022

very interesting tour of working mill. The lyme regis brewery has fantastic beers and a lovely courtyard to sit in the sun to drink it

May 2022

Even better since its recent restoration- you can see inside the mill from a viewing platform and read the information board- no charge but donations encouraged. It's a beautiful building, brilliantly restored; we bought flour from the shop because we were inspired to encourage this little gem to thrive.

March 2022

The old Mill has been lovingly restored to working order, and volunteers are keen to talk about its history, working, and demonstrate it's working. A gem, must be seen. The enjoy a beer or cider across the yard at the Brewery!

September 2021

The brewery was excellent!

June 2021

We loved the Town Mill, particularly the Lyme Regis micro-brewery. Weather wasn't too kind but never spoiled our visits. Covid meant we had to sit at outside tables, sometimes in the rain, however staff were always willing to bring our orders to us as we stood with umbrellas or managed to get a table with cover. Great hosts and great fun.

May 2021

It's a lovely collection of buildings and artisan businesses, a great area to while away time, get inspired and spend money locally! The people at the mill are super-keen and we enjoyed the whole place a lot.

October 2020

A great attraction to visit and learn about milling of grain into flour. A guided tour available and only a donation suggested. Great for children and adults alike. Guide very knowledgeable.

November 2019

Well worth a visit for young and old. Well informed volunteers provide the tour and make it so interesting. No fee is charged but contributions are welcomed and help to keep it open so please give generously.

July 2019

Well worth a visit. The "miller" gave a very informative tour Which included some history of Lyme regis as well as explaining the workings of the mill.

October 2018

The Town Mill is a great attraction, the tour guided by a volunteer miller was excellent and informative.(suggest checking the tour times as they did not run every day) . Opportunities for photographs during the tour were limited because of space but I returned a couple of days later and was able to wander around and take as many as I wanted , I also got to talk to another miller. All for a donation entry fee! The small shop sold their flour and books about the mill. ( I think 2 other reviews were talking about the Courtyard Cafe)

October 2018

Took ages to serve us and the table service in general was poor. Food was good but let down by indifferent service.

July 2018

Well worth a visit as the central feature in a really pleasant old town walk behind the main street. Easier when you start at the top and go down through the twists and turns.

Church Cliff Beach, Lyme Regis
(Less than a mile)

(3)

Famous for its picturesque Jurassic coastline, as well as its array of fossils, Church Cliff Beach is on the edge of Lyme Regis town.  Sandy in places, at low tide there is an extensive rock ledge with hundreds of rock pools where you can catch shrimp. The River Lym flows into the bay, so paddling is a necessity if you want to stroll on the sand.  The beach is flanked by rock armour which protects the promenade, and the sand is covered at high tide.  There’s paid parking close by, so don’t forget your change.  There are facilities, restaurants and cafes in the town.  There’s no lifeguard cover on this beach, and dogs are permitted all year round, which is great news for walkers as it also makes up part of the West Dorset Heritage Coast and its accompanying footpaths.

Plenty of parking with a moderate walk down many steps to the beach. Worth the walk though with plenty of fossils around if your prepared to look.

September 2023

Lovely beach but spoilt by the amount of broken bits of glass and rusty metal components that have fallen from the cliff (believe there was some form of rubbish dump at the top of the cliff many years ago) - not a problem for most people but was worried about our dog getting injured.

May 2023

A lovely stretch of beach with rock pools and a chance to find fossils. Get there as the tide is going out and get there early. Take provisions as it is just a beach, of shingle and sand, there are some rocks to clamber over and rock pools to explore. One of our favourite beaches in the UK.

Town Beach, Lyme Regis
(Less than a mile)

(9)

In the picturesque harbour town of Lyme Regis, Town Beach is covered in pebbles at one end thanks to the coastal protection scheme that placed them there to provide essential care for the Marine Parade and the buildings along it.  At the other end the beach has been built up with sand, no longer gets covered at high tide and provides an extensive beach area manned by RNLI lifeguards in the summer.  There are kiosks, cafes, shops and restaurants bordering the beach, so it’s ideal for visiting with family and spending the whole day on the sand if the weather allows.  The main sandy beach in the area, it’s a delight and easy to get to when on holiday in Dorset.  There is paid parking nearby, so don’t forget your change, and remember that dogs are not permitted from 1st April to 31st October, while from 1st November to 31st March they must be on leads.

Nice clean beach with plenty of clean WCs and cafes. The sandy bit at the harbour is good for dogs to run around (out of season) and kids to dig in.

April 2024

Nice beach but very busy and did not like the swooping seagulls!

August 2023

Wonderful location and so much to do, we didn't use our car once for a week, unheard of!! The parking in the town not good but for a town of that age, it was adequate and the other car parks further out were very good.

May 2022

Booked a beach hut from Town Council! Great fun and provided welcome shade on v hot day! Appreciated the two chairs provided but would have liked a small table for food / coffee

September 2021

Great beach on the sandy side was really busy and made use of the boat hire on the beach which was great fun, seagulls are a real issue when it comes to food and we ate ours in our tent after my daughter lost a sandwich to one right out of her mouth.

August 2021

We loved the seafront and that in October it was full of people. We liked the beach bit, seeing families enjoying the sand, and it was great to see open loos, nice ice-cream and lots of different places to eat and drink.

October 2020

We had a lovely dog walk along the beach, very pleasant.

September 2018

A lovely family friendly beach. Pebbled at one end and sandy at the other. Plenty of eateries and ice cream places. A good place for fossil hunting.

August 2018

Excellent area and beach although extremely busy if the sun makes an appearance. I go to Lyme Regis whilst dogs are allowed on the beach (I do use it with my dog) and would like to see more policing re dogs off leads.

Cobb Gate Beach, Lyme Regis
(Less than a mile)

(8)

This pretty harbour town dates back to the 14th century, and is sheltered by a curving harbour wall, The Cobb, as its known contains a small sandy beach made famous in the opening shot of the film The French Lieutenant’s Woman.  You reach the beach between the RNLI station and the slipway, and there is lifeguard cover in the summer months.  Activities nearby include fishing, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, surfing and water skiing, while facilities close to the beach include cafes and restaurants and toilets.  There are lots of walks in the area including guided tours of the famous fossil bearing cliffs.  There is paid parking nearby, Axminster train station is five minutes away as the crow flies and buses are available to the town centre.  Dogs are allowed on the beach from 1st November to 30th March as long as they’re on the lead, but they are not permitted in the summer months.

Love the stroll along the Cobb beach and area so clean plenty of places to eat and drink. The locals are so warm and welcoming, can’t beat Lyme regis

November 2021

Perfect sandy beach for everyone. Loved the Marine Parade with food and drink and ice creams.

October 2021

excellent, safe beach

September 2021

Always raked and cleaned. Pretty safe, excellent lifeguards. Restaurants and cafes need to be open later. Toilets very clean but not enough of them so long queues. Watch out for seagulls stealing food from your hands!

August 2021

Lovely harbour and great places to grab a bite to eat. But it is extremely busy. Every inch of the small patch of sand by the cobb was taken up but beach shelters, feet deck chairs etc. If your kids are not fussed about sand avoid the area if you want quite and relaxing. The other side of the cobb is quite and so are the toilets (which are clean)

August 2021

We walked here from Seaton along the muddy coastal path and Lyme Regis is lovely . We took a boat out from the cob .

July 2021

The cob was lovely to walk on and all you needed was near by

September 2020

Lovely to see this in sunshine for the first time in several visits. Worth going early to see it uncrowded.

Monmouth Beach, Lyme Regis
(Less than a mile)

(7)

Named after the Duke of Monmouth who landed here in 1685 in an attempt to take the crown from King James II, Monmouth Beach is a large pebble and sand beach that stretches over a kilometer southwest from the Cobb wall.  There are beach huts, a bowling green, the Lyme Regis Power Boat Club and paid car parks close by.  Meanwhile, for those wishing to have their own exploratory adventures, you can find a layer of limestone called the ammonite graveyard at Monmouth Beach, containing a large number of (you guessed it) ammonites.  There are numerous walks close by and dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.  There is lifeguard cover in the summer, and all the town’s cafés, restaurants and amenities are within easy reach.

A very lovely beach if you like stones! But great when the tide is right out and you can fossil hunting.

October 2023

My dog Luna and I really enjoy walking and playing ball along the beach keeping eyes down to see if we can find a fossil!!! very clean and looked after Love it!!!

June 2022

Stunning, quiet and picture perfect ideal place to relax and paint ?

November 2021

Stayed here in The Little Sea House right on the beach. Amazing sunrises. Beautiful and peaceful but tricky to walk on in places.

October 2021

We had a lovely holiday staying in the little sea house. Perfect location on the beach. Was very warm & cosy inside. Was generally clean on arrival but think it could do a intensive deep clean occasionally to clean racks /hard to reach places ( plug holes) but this did not effect our stay ( I’m just bit OCD with cleaning) I would recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing tranquil break. Also the out hours staff from toadhall cottages were very helpful. Would book again

Just beautiful

September 2020

Great for fossil hunting and dog friendly!

Charmouth Beach
(2 miles)

(7)

Perfect for family days out, Charmouth Beach is a mix of sand and pebbles, fossils (for which the area is famous), good swimming and good surf.  It is divided into two distinct areas (East and West) by the mouth of the River Char, which often forms a lagoon suitable for boating or watching the ducks swim past.  To get to the beach, simply find the centre of the village and follow Lower Sea Lane.  There are ample car parks close to the beach as well as another one half way down Lower Sea Lane if those are full.  Dogs are allowed on the West beach as long as they are on leads from 1st May and 30th September between the sea defenses and Lyme Regis but not on the area of beach in front of the beach huts and the Heritage Centre. From 1st July to 31st August dogs are not allowed on East Beach between 10:00am and 6:00pm, but are welcome outside these hours.  At East Beach there is a beach café and picnic tables close by, and in the summer months there is a bouncy castle.  There are also lots of beautiful walks close by to enjoy.  West Beach meanwhile is about a mile and a half long and is a haven for fossil hunters and avid rock-poolers.

Walking this beach from Lyme Regis

October 2023

Great beach, Its busy by the shops but plenty of places to walk to find space away from others. The toilets are bad, so with a few wipes and wash you hands after. Get there early for parking. It is sand, shingle and rock pools, so great for a non commercialised beach day. Follow the tide out if you are fossil hunting but best to have a guided tour first from the museum so you know what you are looking for. One of our favourite sea sides in Britain.

June 2022

This is a beautiful area. Gets very busy and there are about four car parks and on street parking. The museum was very fascinating. Toilet queue was horrendous. This is a great area for inflatables as you can go down the stream if you want instead of the sea. There is also a large grass bank to picnic on instead of the beach cobbles.

August 2021

Great beach if but a bit stony where we went, good facilities for food and drinks and no where near as many seagulls as Lyme Regis.

August 2021

Lovely quaint beach.

May 2019

Lovely spot to sit, relax and look for fossils.

April 2024

A lovely cottage, which exceeded our expectations. Very well equiped kitchen, and how nice to be greeted with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and cake on arrival. Beds comfortable, everywhere clean. Would definately recommend to all.

October 2023

Really enjoyed our stay. Second time on one of Emma's properties. Small issue with radiator fixed promptly.

October 2023

This was our second stay at Fairfield cottage. Location is perfect walking distance into Lyme . The cottage is well fitted out, cosy and comfortable. Love staying here and hope to be back again next year.

September 2023

We had a lovely stay at Fairfield Cottage. The house was immaculately clean and very spacious for two adults and a toddler. Location was good, it is quite a steep hill on the walk back up. Emma (host) was very helpful and answered any questions we had, would definitely recommend a stay here.

August 2023

Yes. We were lucky with the weather. We appreciated the welcome basket. Good family accommodation.

August 2023

We had a wonderful time at Fairfield Cottage, Emma was a fantastic host and was very kind and accommodating. The cottage is very spacious with amazing views of Lyme, the outside space is brilliant and a lot of care is taken to keep it perfect for guests, my daughters loved the trampoline! The car parking space is an added bonus - we enjoyed a small walk along the stream to the town and beach from this or you can walk from the cottage to town.

June 2023

A lovely property in a great location. Emma was super friendly and helpful, the welcome basket was a nice surprise. We've already talked about booking next year!

June 2023

We had good weather and enjoyed our stay and the extra car parking much closer to Lyme was an added bonus which we utilised. Emma is a lovely lady and the welcome was much appreciated.

June 2023

We enjoyed our stay at Fairfields and very good views. Owner very helpful.

May 2023

Lovely area with many places to explore. A short walk into Lyme Regis where there are many nice shops and eateries. It was a comfortable and spacious cottage and we had a very relaxing stay.

October 2022

We had a lovely stay, the location was perfect for us loved the views . The owners were very helpful and we appreciated the welcome basket. Would stay again!

September 2022

Lovely place Lots of room in the cottage Very useful to have a car parking space in town

September 2022

We loved our stay at Fairfield Cottage, there is ample room inside and out and great views. Well-equipped and ample parking space. Rooms are large and two bathrooms. We would stay again and recommend the property to friends. A nice hamper of goodies.

April 2022

We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and the owners were absolutely super. They were very friendly and helpful and we would definitely go back. I said this to the owner as we were leaving and explained that we thought that it was super. The trampoline and the garden is especially useful for families. My girls loved it. We would also definitely use your cottage company again.

April 2022

The hosts were so kind and helpful

September 2021

Absolutely outstanding 5*rating. The trampoline made it for the little one. Thoroughly recommended

Thank you for the rating. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay.

June 2021

Lovely holiday!

June 2021

Fab holiday Keep up the fab work and friendly service ! Cheers !!

September 2020

We enjoyed our stay - thank you.

September 2020

This is an excellent facility ideal as a central location and the owners are absolutely lovely, but the property is probably due a little upgrade to bring it inline with other properties being offered for the same price. The courtyard area is a little bit non child friendly now, with sharp drops and concrete. With just a little bit of paint on the 90 s style furniture and a bit of decking on the outside seating area, the owners would benefit from full bookings and could happily put the rental up to cover the costs of improvement

Thank you for the feedback, we are delighted you loved the location and we will forward your suggestions to the owners.

September 2020

We had a most enjoyable stay- the owner was very helpful and friendly and we greatly appreciated the parking place in town

August 2020

It should be made clear in the marketing that the property is beside a busy main road - we found this disconcerting with three small children. However, we still had a great stay so thank you very much

Thankyou for the helpful comments. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Lyme Regis and enjoyed the enclosed patio area which is safe for children. Whilst the property is close to the main road like so many cottages in Lyme Regis the main access to the cottage and sitting out area is safe and private.

September 2019

We really enjoyed our stay as the cottage was really lovely and we found the location great, we’d definitely recommend Fairfield Cottage to others

September 2019

We loved our stay in this cottage. It is probably the best we have ever stayed in and would recommend it unreservedly.

September 2019

Over all we had a lovely stay... it was a super cottage... we would just probably prefer to be a little closer into town next time.

August 2019

Liked the fact that the owners were onsite but left us alone.

June 2019

We did enjoy our stay, Lyme Regis was an unexpected hit and we would definitely return. The cottage was very nice and the owner really had considered all needs.

September 2018

Food from restaurants, pubs, bakeries etc. was good but especially good at The Royal Standard.

August 2018

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and found the cottage to be ideal for our requirements.

August 2018

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was very spacious and well equipped, they even supplied washing up liquid, tea towels, dishwasher tablets and washing powder. The property is set up upon quite a steep hill so would definitely recommend pre-booking the extra parking space in the town centre.

June 2018

The accommodation was excellent, very well equipped . The toilet in the ensuite bedroom did not flush well... this could be improved.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for Fairfield and raising the issue with the lavatory, this has been forwarded to the owner so they are aware and can rectify the problem.
